In 1998, he won the 44th Edogawa Ranpo Award for "Hatsuru Sukonaki" and made his writing debut. In 2010, he won the 31st Eiji Yoshikawa Literature New Face Award for "Tetsu no Hone". In 2011, he won the 145th Naoki Prize for "Shitamachi Rocket"
