Michael arranges to be captured by a Syrian intelligence officer in order to rescue an inept smuggler; Riley offers Madeline a deal in hopes of tracking down Michael.

Fiona is surprised by a visit from a smuggler she met in prison, who needs her help bringing down a corrupt Miami detective. Meanwhile, Michael teams up with a former adversary in order to turn the tables on a more treacherous foe.

After finding themselves stranded in Panama, Michael and the team are forced to hijack a plane in order to get home. Before they can leave, however, Michael must first escape the clutches of a sadistic Panamanian drug-runner.

The team travels to Panama to capture an assassin; Madeline tries to obtain difficult answers.

Michael and Fiona pose as a wealthy couple at a South American resort in order to extract a bioweapons specialist. Elsewhere, Sam and Jesse try to trap Max's killer.

Larry offers Michael $20,000, but then Michael raises it to $30,000, to kill a nurse named Jeannie (Amy Pietz) who stands to gain a lot of money when her ailing husband dies. Michael and Fiona track down Jeannie and inform her that Drew (Zachery Ty Bryan), her stepson, has placed out a bounty on her head. Michael protects Jeannie by faking her poisoning, aided by Fiona's new boyfriend, Campbell (Gary Weeks), a paramedic. Larry kills Drew to cover his tracks and leaves Miami. Michael and Sam follow Bill Johnson into a building and find out that Carla has been using Michael for tactical support for an unknown operation. Michael had collected the ID card for entry into the building (Episode 2), and the rifle that sniper Bill Johnson would be using. Michael also attends family counseling with his mother.

Michael is hired to track down nearly a million dollars worth of pharmaceuticals that were stolen by thieves on their way to Tanzania.

When someone's suspected of embezzling from a hip-hop mogul's charity, Michael attempts to trick the thief into stealing a larger sum.

While on assignment, agent Michael Westen gets a "Burn Notice" and becomes untouchable. Having no idea what or who triggered his demise, Michael returns to his hometown, Miami, determined to find out the reason for his sudden termination.
