CHING is hurt. CIB spares no effort to in investigate the case but their effort has proved futile. CHING’s accident is a great strike to YIN. She believes that she has been a jinx on CHING. In order not to bring him bad luck again, she is determined to leave him. KEUNG asks LAI to force YIN to look for confidential information from CHING to boost sales. LAI finally realizes that YIN goes out with CHING not because he works in CIB but she truly loves him. LAI calls SHUN. However, their conversation revolves only around their son. YIN plucks up enough courage to visit CHING at hospital. When she gets there, there is a power failure. She recalls the horrible memory of losing her fiancee. She decides to break with CHING. CHEUNG is scolded for being superstitious for buying feng shui ornaments to his colleagues. WAH believes that NIN was trying to kill CHING because he had rejected his transfer application……

NIN is angry that CHING refuses to write him a recommendation for a transfer to OCTB. He argues with CHING. Their conversation is overheard by WAH. CHING is worried about his work. YIN encourages him to share his problems with her. CHING is touched. YIN is nervous that she is going to meet with CHING’s brother, SHUN. Because of her relationship with LAI, she worries that SHUN will have prejudiced views on her. YIN’s three mother-in-laws learn of her worry. They therefore try to collect more information from YUEN. YUEN misconceives that they are interested in him. SHUN even thinks that YUEN has fallen in love with one of YIN’s mother-in-laws. YUEN tells SHUN the truth. SHUN has changed his view on his father. KEUNG and his wife ELAINE want to divorce each other. LAI is embroiled in their fight since both of them want her to testify that their partner has committed adultery. She is at a loss as to what to do……

With the useful information CIB has collected, the Organized Crime and Triad Bureau (OCTB) has managed to smash the counterfeit bank notes syndicate. Because of YUEN’s injury, his relationship with SHUN has improved a lot. Recently, somebody has snatched away a police gun. A policewoman has taken away some confidential documents from the Criminal Records Bureau. CIB takes over the cases. CHING is responsible for YAN’s jobs during her absence. NIN wants to apply for a transfer to OCTB but CHING believes that it is more appropriate for him to stay at CIB. Everybody in the company learns that LAI has separated with SHUN. LAI believes that YIN is the one who spread the news. YIN wants to make peace with LAI because of CHING. She reminds LAI that KEUNG’s new mistress has psychological problems but it makes LAI hate her even more. FANNY is selling her restaurant and returning to Canada. YEUNG is upset……

YIN and CHING start going out with each other. However, she does not have much confidence in their relationship. She even asks her subordinates to follow her and CHING secretly when they go hiking. CHING comes to learn about her worries. He shows her his medical reports and expresses his love for her. YIN is deeply touched. SHUN decides to separate with LAI. He moves away from home. Listening to YAN’s words, he tells his son, KAN, what is going on between him and LAI. The Commercial Crime Bureau asks CIB to help investigating a counterfeit bank notes case. After the meeting, all the senior staff show their concern for SHUN. He is embarrassed. CHING tells YUEN that SHUN has separated with LAI. YUEN believes that SUKI is the main cause for their separation. He SUKI money, hoping that she would explain to LAI. LAI is shocked to learn that YIN is dating CHING. She wrongly believes that YIN is making use of CHING to fight against her……

LAI has returned from England. She tells SHUN that she no longer has strong affections for him. She devotes herself to strengthen her influence in the company. CIB is working hard to dig out the headquarters of a cross-boundary counterfeit credit card syndicate. SHUN meets YAN while he is shopping for his son who is studying in England. YAN, who has a broken marriage, encourages SHUN to court LAI again. Following her advice, he starts dating LAI again. However, his action further reinforces LAI’s belief that she does not love him anymore. LAI begins to fight against YIN. Firstly, she pretends that she is still in England. Secondly, she deliberately lets YIN know she is lying. And finally, she alienates LAI from a potential investor, who later decides to withdraw his investment in the magazine. YIN is defeated completely. She runs into CHING when they are going to watch the meteor shower respectively……

YIN tries to prevent YUEN from stepping into her family affairs. However, SHEUNG discloses to him their family secret. CIB has made little progress on the death of the Chinese-Pilipino. A 17-year-old girl is killed mysteriously. A Superintendent from the Marine Department has killed himself before his promotion. SHUN looks into the case. He has got some useful advice from YAN, a Superintendent of Section B. HUNG HO CHEUNG of Section C always fawns on his boss. He tells SHUN that he knows where SUKI works. In order to justify himself in front of LAI, SHUN rushes to the pub where SUKI works. However, what he finds is that YUEN is accused of sexual harassment. He is both disappointed and enraged. YIN has become the acting Chief Editor. She seizes the chance to strengthen her power and influence. She plays a trick and makes MEI a fool in front of KEUNG……

YUEN wants to pair up CHING and YIN. He asks CHING to repair a computer. CHING takes it without knowing that it actually belongs to YIN. YIN is angry, for she believes that CHING has read her computer files. The fact is that CHING has passed the computer to WAH, who knows a lot about computers, to have a look. WAH has read through YIN’s files and learns a lot about YIN. He decides to chase her. MEI bumps into YIN and comes to know that she has three mothers. LAI wants to make use of YIN’s secret to kick her out of the company but fails. SHUN has destroyed SUKI’s boyfriend’s bookmaker’s. SUKI flies into a rage. She is determined to take revenge on SHUN. She pretends to commit suicide and lies to LAI that SHUN has sexually harassed her. A Chinese-Pilipino has died mysteriously. SHUN has to cancel his travel plan to England with LAI and their son. LAI is displeased. Their already bad relationship has become even worse.

LAI plans to make use of KEUNG’s mistress, RACHEL, to fight against YIN. However, she cannot concentrate on it since is distracted by her suspicion of SHUN having an affair. YIN meets CHING again. She is sorry for him as she wrongly believes that he is very upset to have lost BONNIE. YUEN visits YIN a lot. He finds her a good girl. He tries to match her up with CHING but to no avail. On the other side, YIN and CHING get to know more about each other and become friends. SHUN discovers that although SUKI does provide them with addresses of illegal bookmakings, what she provides are small-scale ones only. A subordinate of CHING discovers that somebody has bought twenty computers for home use. He suspects that this person is using the computers for illegal soccer bookmaking. AU YEUNG resorts to gambling since he has broken up with SUKI. He is heavily in debt. He turns to YEUNG for help……

CHING has learnt now the true side of BONNIE. She, nevertheless, dumps him before he can do so. YIN and PING witness all these. PING feels sorry for CHING. She tries to console him by inviting him and YUEN to have tea with her and YIN. YIN and CHING get to know more about each other and their misunderstandings are resolved after the tea. There has been an increase of illegal soccer bookmaking. CIB is requested to find out the bookmaker behind the scene. SHUN discovers that his subordinate AU YEUNG is having some problems with his personal life. LAI’s father, CHING MUN HING, is addicted to soccer gambling. AU YEUNG has fallen in love with his informant, SUKI. AU YEUNG is therefore suspended from his duties by SHUN. SHUN takes over AU YEUNG’s work. He meets with SUKI a lot for work. LAI misconceives that he has a woman outside. LAI continues to fight with YIN under the table……

YIN’s paparazzi are following MAN and NANA’s secret love affairs. However, because of their carelessness the originally scoop has attracted reporters from other newspapers. This has hindered CIB’s investigation immensely. SHUN suspects that LAI has taken a peep at his confidential documents. The couple has a quarrel over this. LAI tries to prevent YIN from making any progress in the covering of MAN’s relationship so as to avoid further conflicts with SHUN. YEUNG and MEI try to make peace between SHUN and LAI by inviting them to their favorite restaurant. However, their plan doesn’t work. YIN and SHUN have got some important information at NANA’s birthday party respectively. YIN has written a striking cover story while CHING has arrested an important contact person of the vice syndicate. While he is trying to save YIN’s mother, PING, CHING sees his girlfriend, BONNIE, going into a love hotel with a man.

SHUN has been discharged from hospital. Not wanting to disturb LAI from her work, he asks his good friend, Superintendent YIP YING YEUNG, to pick him up from the hospital. SHUN tells YEUNG he suspects that LAI give an excessive amount of sleeping tablets to him on purpose. On the other hand, YIN has become daring and energetic after her success in covering the Triad kidnapping case. LAI tries to weaken her power by shifting her to the team that is responsible for the Book B of the magazine. SHUN has got a new assignment. He is to investigate a cross-boundary vice syndicate and his target is MAN, an actor in the showbiz. This is his first case since his recovery. YUEN continues to pretend that he has got gastric cancer with the help of his good friend who is a doctor. CHING believes everything. He tries his best to be a filial son. SHUN bumps into MEI who is shopping and doing housework for LAI……

YUEN learns by chance that SHUN is hospitalized. He visits SHUN, only to be kicked out. LAI tells SHUN that YUEN is suffering from gastric cancer. SHUN’s enmity towards YUEN is lessen. YUEN has talked with BONNIE. He then tells CHING that she is not a good woman and irks him. SHUN’s operation is successful. He is discharged. KEUNG asks LAI to take leave to take care of her husband at home. LAI doesn’t want YIN to take over her place during her leave. She plays a trick so as to put YIN in a difficult position. With CHING’s advice, the police have finally cracked the kidnapping case of the Triad head. It turns out that it is the chieftains’ plot to raise money. Unexpectedly, the case has saved YIN from her difficult situation. The sales of Intelligence Magazine have boost significantly. On the other hand, LAI’s life has become very chaotic now that she is working as well as taking care of the house……

The police have come to her club, which has become the gathering hub of the Triad, to make an arrest. CHUNG KAM YUEN, father of SHUN and CHING, is also embroiled in the case. On the other hand, the leader of the gang that made a mess at CHI’s club has been kidnapped. CIB takes over the case. They find three of the chieftains of the gang suspicious. SHUN doesn’t want to see YUEN, who left the family 17 years ago suddenly. He asks LAI to pick YUEN up at the police station. CHING bumps into them. CHING drives YUEN to the pier to catch the ferry back to Macau. He is shocked to find that his father has cancer. YIN and LAI fight with each other all the time. CHING tells YIN that he has found her mother, PING, who suffers from dementia. YIN misconceives that he is working against him with LAI. SHUN needs to be operated immediately because of retinal detachment. CHING has brought YUEN home, but he doesn’t know how to tell SHUN about it.

YIN meets LAI in the shopping mall. They appear to be friendly but a war of words has actually started. While YIN’s subordinate JOEY is gathering information for her at the office, her another subordinate KEN picks up discarded notes from LAI’s rubbish bin to look for anything useful. They have both found that LAI is selling useful information of Intelligence Magazine to its competitor. However, YIN is suspicious on the findings since they come too easily. YIN is told by her informants that LAI might have an affair with their boss, CHIM YAN KEUNG. She carries out an investigation and finds that LAI might have gained her position by helping KEUNG covering his having a mistress. She tells KEUNG’s wife all about this but LAI manages to deceive KEUNG’s wife tactfully. CHING meets BONNIE, the girl whom he secretly admired in the past, at an alumni gathering and starts dating her. LAI’s mother, CHAN YUN CHI, runs a social club……

CHING starts working in Section B of CIB. His impotence has been covered on a magazine. His new boss, TSU WAI YAN, is displeased. His subordinates TING KA NIN and KWOK MING WAH do not get along with each other. What is more, they do no trust their CHING. YIN brings along her close subordinates to Intelligence Magazine. On the surface, she gets along well with LAI the Chief Editor but both of them are actually putting each other on their guard. LAI shows her severity by forcing YIN’s subordinates to take leave. In this way, YIN has to take up a lot of work on her own. SHUN dresses as a businessman for an investigation. In the evening, he is going to have dinner with his younger brother, CHING, and his wife, LAI. The bandit who has a gunfight with CHING on the street has escaped. CHING runs into YIN, the editor who called him "The Impotent Inspector" in her magazine.

Chief Inspector CHUNG CHING has just finished his undercover mission targeted at the Triad. Today, he testifies against a triad leader in the court. IVY, the girl whom he went out with when he is working as an undercover, informs him that someone from the underworld is planning to harm him. CHING leads her to the police station to reveal more about the plan. IVY is enraged. She tells everybody in the station that CHING is impotent. This is also an unlucky day for HUI SUM YIN. She has just been hunted by the Intelligence Magazine to work as an Assignment Editor. She wants to show her talent to the Chief Editor of the magazine, CHING MEI LAI, before she leaves her current company. However, her paparazzi have failed to find any new discovering after following CHING for a long time……
