Victoria is unable to get a respected judge to defend her at the witch trial, because she can not supply enough information. A young law student who works at the jail offers to defend her at the trial. His name is Peter Bradford. Barnabas convinces Josette that she must leave Collinwood and the surrounding Collinsport for her own safety.
