This week on "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan," Ukrainian Ambassador Oksana Markarova joins to discuss President Trump's announcement that he will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Aug. 15, as he continues to push for a ceasefire deal between Russia and Ukraine. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte also joins to break down how a peace deal might impact European security. Sen. Mark Kelly tells "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan" that he believes former President Joe Biden's handling of the border wasn't working, but President Trump's immigration crackdown has "swung drastically in another direction." He also says Mr. Trump "should've extracted something" from Russia before agreeing to meet with Vladimir Putin. Former U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams — who served in President Trump's first term — tells "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan" that "people are going to die" if the U.S. backs away from mRNA research, as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. calls off mRNA vaccine development projects. He also argues that RFK Jr. "failed in his first major test" after a deadly shooting at CDC headquarters.
