Salvage Dawgs

The Dawgs head to Martinsville, VA, to salvage a house that was condemned after an electrical fire. Knowing they have a customer looking for a kitchen island, Mike and Robert take advantage of a granite counter in the burned-down home.

After a call from their old friend, Captain Tim, the crew travels to Norfolk, Virginia, to salvage a fireboat from Baltimore. When they return to the shop, Mike and Tay enlist the help of a local coppersmith to fashion unique foot baths for Hotel Roanoke.

The team organizes a Dawg vs. Dawg build competition after Mike and Robert get a tip on an abandoned power plant from an old client in Rock Hill, South Carolina. The winner of the salvage contest will be a tough call as both teams' distinct pieces are deeply rooted in the plant's original aesthetic.

The Salvage Dawgs pick through a barn and take on a Queen Anne-style home in Barnesville, Ohio, looking for some bonus finds. Mike Whiteside meets with a return client who has an idea for a dining table set made from rusted canning baskets and live edge wood.

The Dawgs tackle Ohio's cold and snowy winter to salvage an old Italiante house that's beaming with character. Back in the shop, things heat up as Tay comes up with a plan to use old pulleys as the legs for a unique table.

Mike and Robert take the Dawgs to salvage a church in Alexandria, VA, where they must save everything from contemporary pews to a commercial grade sink. However, the team is forced to get creative as they are met with heights, narrow hallways and perplexing waterlines.

The Dawgs take a stab at a refurbished storefront in historic downtown Lexington, Virginia. This second-generation salvage requires a lot of finesse, as the building is being renovated rather than destroyed. The team then turns the existing windowpanes into a room divider commissioned by the building's owner.

The Salvage Dawgs head up north to deliver a large lamppost that will serve as the focal point of a new community space. Before taking on this project, however, Robert takes the team to the Bluefield House in West Virginia to rack up on the classic commodities needed to restock their warehouse.

The Dawgs head to Blacksburg, Va., to salvage an 1800s barn; with a hurricane on the horizon, the team is under a tight deadline to make it out before the storm rolls in; the team turns part of an airplane into a stunning desk.

The crew heads to Grottoes, Virginia, to salvage and demolish an old country store. Using materials from the project, Mike and Robert create a tribute bench for a veterans' retreat.

The team heads to a local shopping center where they use some creative methods to salvage a large, decorative space frame, rolling doors and more. They also find great items from a pick in New Jersey they can repurpose to create amazing builds like a Bourbon Bar shelf.

The crew stays local and heads just down the street in Roanoke where they salvage a one-of-a-kind sign and pick through an old meeting hall. Later, Mike and Tay build a TV console out of old material.

Mike and Tay build a commemorative clock for the town of Kannapolis, North Carolina, before the crew heads back to salvage items left behind on the first trip, including a large cupola, windows and a bank vault. Then, they head back to Roanoke to create a standing desk.

The team returns to the Norfolk, VA, ferry to get the large items that were left behind, including a crow's nest and staircase. Mike and Robert have a consultation in Pawleys Island, SC, and once the team returns to Roanoke, they get busy on the build so they can deliver to the customers.

The crew heads to Norfolk, VA, to test their sea legs and salvage an obsolete ferry including lights, skylights and a mural. Back at the shop, Grayson helps Mike and Tay with a commissioned build for a fellow maker.

Mike, Robert, Grayson and Tay head over to the Machine Shop they bought to see what they can find. After sorting and sifting, the team finds items for new builds and knows the space will be great for Makers to create their own builds. As they're renovating the house on their property, they walk through to discover how many new builds are needed, causing Mike and Tay to start on the first, a coffee bar for the new space.

The crew heads to Glenside, PA, to salvage a huge estate. The sprawling 1918 mansion gives the Dawgs a run for their money as they try to save columns, doors, mantles, bathtubs and more. Mike and Tay visit Rural Retreat to find a piece for a custom coffee table.

Mike and Tay have a consultation for a project from a brewery but before they can start building they have to head to a salvage job in Kannapolis, NC. The project proves to be a large job where the Dawgs have to salvage a cupola, doors, bathrooms and porticos. Time is not on their side, either, as the whole town needs to be salvaged for an upcoming revitalization.

The Salvage Dawgs travel to a shipyard in Norfolk, VA, to salvage a boat once used for Navy SEAL insertions. The Dawgs manage to salvage some key items, but their energy and patience is tested once they realize the boat won't fit on the trailer.

Mike and Robert give Tay a history lesson with an old dentistry x-ray machine before the team loads up for a project in Grottoes, VA. They start at Cosby Brothers Mill where they hope to salvage some old mill parts if they can figure out a way to safely get them from the third story. Mike and Robert then travel up the road to see what can be done with an old repurposed barn. Tay and Mike start a kitchen desk build back at the shop with some old salvage materials.

The Dawgs stay close to home to salvage the old Salem Peacock Cleaners in Salem, Virginia. Over 100 years old, the building is filled with antique laundromat parts that the crew carefully removes, including a fur fumigator door, steam press and soapstone sink. With a full truck, the team loads up and heads back to Roanoke so Tay and Grayson can begin making a ladder wine rack.

The Salvage Dawgs score some doors from the Virginia Military Institute before hesitantly taking on a Peanut Silo Salvage in Skippers, Virginia. After a rather precarious roof removal, they devise a different plan to dismantle the silos while keeping them intact. Once back at the shop, they tackle a table and use a grinding wheel as their design inspiration.

The Salvage Dawgs head to Henderson, NC, to salvage parts from an old home that used to house young female teachers. Back at the shop, Mike and Tay begin a custom hall tree using doors from a previous salvage.

The team faces cold winter weather as they attempt to quickly salvage as much as possible from an old church in Laurel, DE. Robert, Mike and Tay work together to remove large stained glass and figure out a way to get it back to the store with minimal damage. Grayson and Grace test their skills at successfully salvage ceiling tiles and doors. Later, Mike has his eye on a trolley and Tay has a great idea for a build that's shaping up to look like an outhouse.

The Dawgs head to Pinehurst, NC, to salvage an old steam plant that used to run the town. After working together to remove an old transom, Grayson and Robert remove some cool valves while Mike discovers some additional salvage in a shed near the building. Back at the shop, Grayson helps build a bar and Robert brings in an unusual find that usually doesn't mesh well with the Dawgs.

Mike starts the day sharing his most recent find with the team -- an antique cash register -- before beginning work on a handle cart coffee table with Tay and Patrick. Later, the team travels to a vacant furniture plant in Lexington, NC, where they work in near-darkness salvaging conveyor belts, fire doors, veneer molds, factory carts and industrial lights.

The Salvage Dawgs head to Laurel, Delaware, to salvage what they can from a former Methodist church that fell victim to water damage. The team removes pews, a bronze bell and a 'greenhouse' skylight before heading back to the shop to work on a beam console.

Beechcraft Airplane Salvage: The Salvage Dawgs try something a little different by bidding on a 1947 Beechcraft airplane. Mike goes a little over budget to win the auction and the crew has to hire professionals to figure out how to disassemble it properly. Meanwhile, Mike and Tay build a functional shelf out of a mantel and Mike brings in an old piece of farm equipment to Robert's dismay.

Storybook-Style House: Black Dog Salvage travels south to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to save what they can from a storybook-style home in two days. The heat takes a toll on the team, but they find some unique chandeliers, sinks, windows and a nice Dutch door. Mike comes up with a functional design for a garment rack that can be rolled anywhere and Robert is excited about some old items that remind him of his Navy days.

19th Century Corncrib: The Salvage Dawgs go to Hamburg, PA, to carefully deconstruct a corncrib being sure to take plenty of notes and pictures so they can reassemble it accurately.

Victorian Free Classic House The Salvage Dawgs return to Hot Springs, VA, to salvage another home before it gets demolished. The house has some great Eastlake hardware worth salvaging as well as Majorca tile, mantels and pocket doors. Mike mixes steel and wood for a modern side

Return to Ludwig Mansion: Black Dog Salvage returns to the Ludwig mansion in Pennsylvania for roof tiles, windows, and the boiler room. Down in the shop, Grayson looks for materials to build a spice rack for her kitchen and Robert brings in a vintage scale.

Wayne Lanes Bowling Alley: The Salvage Dawgs go to Wayne Lanes in Waynesboro, VA, to salvage a bowling alley damaged by a roof collapse. Robert is determined to redeem himself from last season's bowling fiasco, while Grayson discovers vintage bowling relics.

Virginia Victorian Home: The Salvage Dawgs travel to Hot Springs, VA, to salvage mantles, cabinets, sinks and a round window from a late Victorian-style home. Grayson works on her negotiating and picking skills, Tay finishes up his remodel with a custom light for his home.(TD)

Trinity Lutheran Church: The Salvage Dawgs go to Greencastle, PA, to salvage an old church that is being restored for a physical therapy office. The team struggles to figure out the best way to remove the windows, salvage the large bell and execute an idea for a console.

Marion Bowling Alley: The Salvage Dawgs travel to Marion, Virginia, to salvage a bowling alley. However, the bowling alley floor turns out to be far heavier than they anticipated. Mike buys an artillery telescope for the shop, Tay and Mike build a convertible coffee table

Grace Family Church: The Crew travels to Vinton, Virginia, to salvage a massive piece of stained glass from the Grace Family Church. They run into challenges when equipment is delayed. Tay & Grayson buy a tandem bike for the shop, and Mike & Tay build a beam lamp.

Rural Retreat Historical Society: The team travels to the Historical Society in Rural Retreat, Virginia. Mike sets up rigging from the rooftop for an outdoor clock while Robert salvages a vault door and bank teller station. Tay and Mike build a day bed using pallets.

Free Will House: The Salvage Dawg team travels to Free Will House in Huntington, West Virginia, where they salvage a bathtub, sitz bath and kitchen cabinets. Ted and Mike buy a butter churn for the shop, and Tay and Mike build a wall TV shutter console in the shop.

Mine Master's House: The Dawgs travel to Quakertown, Pennsylvania, to reclaim items from an old mine master's house. They are surprised to find much of the house picked over before they arrive. Robert and Grayson struggle with flooring while Mike cuts structural beams.

Pickle Mansion: The Salvage Dawgs head to Knoxville, Tennessee, in hopes of salvaging the crumbling Pickle Mansion. The main items of interest are a copper frieze and columns. Mike discovers a fuel drop tank and he and Tay build a dresser kitchen island.

Vaughan Furniture Company: The Salvage Dawgs head to the Vaughan Furniture Company in Galax, Virginia. Mike & Ted struggle to salvage a heavy furniture press while Robert is slowed down by explosion-proof lights. Mike and Grayson build a chair with pieces from an old suitcase.(TD)

Greek Revival Farmhouse: The Salvage Dawgs preserve a Greek Rival farm house in Bentleyville, Pennsylvania. Main salvage items include mantles, tiles and a full-sized chicken coop. Mike and Tay build a freight cart couch in the Black Dog shop.

St Michael's Catholic School: The Salvage Dawgs team head to the St. Michael's Catholic School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where they brave high-wire heights in order to save elements of the past. The team also builds a ladder console and discovers a vintage army record player.

Wilberger Funeral Home: The Salvage Dawgs team saves parts of the Wilberger Funeral Home in New Hope, VA. Key items salvaged include an elevator and barn door hardware. Back in Roanoke, Mike and the guys build a collapsible bookcase.

The Dawgs salvage the Reed Creek Mill in Wytheville, VA. Key items found include conveyor belts and a flour hopper. Mike also builds a console for his nephew.

The Dawgs return to Trenton Central High School in Trenton, NJ. Key items found include four large clock faces and library ladders. In the shop, Mike and Tay build a table from an old jail bed.

The Dawgs save the bow and stern of a boat on Smith Mountain Lake in Moneta, VA. The team cuts up an old Chevy van for a commissioned wall art piece. New dogs Molly May and Stella make their debut.

Return to Geyser Gulch: The Dawgs return to Geyser Gulch at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri. Back at the warehouse, Mike builds a garden arbor out of two doors.

Meek Farmhouse: Mike and Robert remove a two-piece staircase from a farmhouse in Marion, VA. The guys also pick through a train yard. Back at the shop, Mike builds a bar from panel doors as a surprise for a customer's husband.

Byrd Log Cabin: The Salvage Dawgs team returns to a previously salvaged house to save its original log structure. Mike and Tay learn how that wood is milled for a custom building project. Mike builds an end table for the property owner.

Nehi Bottling Plant: Mike salvages large industrial doors from the old Nehi Bottling Plant in Covington, VA. Back at the shop, Robert and Tay work on a gate made from a bicycle. The guys also pick through a collection brought in by a local vendor.

St. Mary’s Church Rectory: The Black Dog crew salvages St. Mary's Church in Chillicothe, OH. Key items include cast-iron mantles, a large built-in cabinet and a stained-glass front doorway. At the shop, Tay and his dad work to make a truck from a VW bus.

Reel Theaters: Mike, Robert and the team salvage a movie theater in Sevierville, TN. Key items include analog projectors, movie screens, and neon letters. Mike also builds a commissioned table from a window frame.

Old Stagecoach Inn: Mike and Robert salvage a house previously damaged by a tornado near Abingdon, VA. Key items include floors, doors and a complete staircase. While at the warehouse, Mike makes a commissioned desk from a balance beam.

Nelson House: The Black Dog Salvage crew saves pieces of a house in Mt. Jackson, VA. Their main focus is on the clay-fired roof and on the oversized cornice brackets. Back in the wood shop, Mike makes a bench from an old dresser.

USS Zuni: Hosts Mike and Robert salvage parts off an old navy ship. Mike builds a table from an airplane wing.

Bunker-Ramo Teletrade: The Dawgs remove a teletrade from a brokerage firm. They also pick through a barn in Ohio.

Spiral Staircase: The Black Dog Salvage crew splits up for the week. Robert and Grayson salvage a spiral staircase in Norfolk, while Mike and the guys pick through a restoration shop in Petersburg.

Lakeside Marina: Mike, Robert, and the Black Dog Salvage crew travel to Smith Mountain Lake to save parts off a sinking boat. While at the marina, they discover other boats on the property to salvage.

Hillcrest Bed & Breakfast: Mike, Robert, and the Black Dog Salvage crew extract a fireclay tub and window frame from a bed and breakfast. The crew picks through a large auto graveyard. Key finds include a fire truck, a vintage cooler and PBR sign.

Eiffel Tower Replica: Mike, Robert, and the Black Dog Salvage guys disassemble a 40 foot Eiffel Tower replica in Columbus, OH. While in Columbus, they pick through a fellow salvager's collection. Grayson builds a floor lamp back at the warehouse.

Northeast Farmhouse: Mike, Robert, and the Black Dog Salvage crew save parts of an early 1800s farmhouse and barn in Edison, NJ. Key items include corner plinths, thick floorboards, and an elaborate front entryway.

Nestlebrooke: The Black Dog Salvage crew pitches in to help save parts of a house in Roanoke, VA. Main items include floors, trim, front porch columns, and a built in cabinet. While salvaging, Mike and Robert also search for buried treasure.

Homestead Stables: Mike Whiteside, Robert Kulp and the Black Dog crew tackle the Homestead Stables and carriage house in Hot Springs, VA. Key finds include stable doors, a carriage, trusses, and a hand-operated carriage elevator.

Former First Baptist Church: Mike Whiteside, Robert Kulp and the Black Dog Salvage crew save parts from the former First Baptist Church in Bluefield, WV. Key finds include accordion doors, a pipe organ, and a balcony.

Smith Mountain Lake: Mike Whiteside, Robert Kulp and the Black Dog crew salvage wood from a cabin at Smith Mountain Lake. From that wood, Mike builds a four-post bed to sell in the shop.

Ghent Row: Mike Whiteside, Robert Kulp and the Black Dog Salvage crew tackle an entire city block of Victorian houses in Norfolk, VA. One of which is The Painted Lady, an old tearoom originally built in 1892 and renovated in 1997.

Robert Kulp, Mike Whiteside and the Black Dog crew salvage the James House, a 5,000 square foot home built in 1893. The team removes a hand-crafted Carrara marble mantle, a cast iron sink, vintage cabinet and historical negatives.

Robert Kulp, Mike Whiteside and the Black Dog crew salvage the Bent Mountain Mill, a grist mill used for grinding wheat and other grains. Key finds include patina doors, mill stones and running gears.
