Park Hyun-Tae (Danny Ahn) drives his bus through a tunnel like every other night, but this evening high school student Jung Woo-Min (Kang Chan) is standing outside of the tunnel. Park Hyun-Tae is unable to avoid the student and he is killed. When he goes back to work, he has to drive through the same tunnel every evening. Meanwhile, he overhears high school students mention Han Jung-Wook's (Kwak Jung-Wook) bullying as a reason for Jung Woo-Min committing suicide.

Heo Jin-Uk (Bae Soo-Bin) is serving a life in prison term. After years in prison, he is informed that he is terminally ill and he will be released from prison. For the past two years, he has been visited in prison by Ji Yeon-Su (Lee Yoon-Ji). She is part of a volunteer group that tries to help reform prisoners. Without having anywhere to go, Heo Jin-Uk visits Ji Yeon-Su. Her personal life is far different than what he envisioned.

Lee Hae-Jun (Kwak Dong-Yeon) transfers to a new middle school in an affluent area of Seoul. At his previous school, Lee Hae-Jun was the top ranked student in his grade. While going to his first day of class at his new school, he sees a girl leaning over a bridge. Thinking she may jump, he pulls her to the ground which she does not appreciate. Later that day, Lae Hae-Jun learns the girl he saw earlier is Jo Eun-Seo (Lee Yul-Eum). She's currently the top ranked student at his new school. 3 months later, with new test scores released, Lee Hae-Jun takes the top spot and bumps Jo Eun-Seo down to #2. Meanwhile, Jo Eun-Seo vows that Lee Hae-Jun won't beat her again. She recruits her classmate Jeong Na-Yeon (Lee Han-Na) to help her retake the top spot. Lee Hae-Jun finds himself falling for Jo Eun-Seo.

Kim Ji-Won (Park Hee-Von) and Han Seung-Uk (Song Jong-Ho) have dated for about 6 years and they will get married in 3 months. Yet, their seems to be little excitement in their relationship Kim Ji-Won even asks Han Seung-Uk "Why are we getting married?" One day, while Kim Ji-Won is getting fitted for a wedding dress, she meets Lee Jun-Gi (Hong Jong-Hyun). He had a huge crush on her in the past.

After experiencing pain near his stomach area, Choi U-Jin (Oh Jung-Se) goes to see a doctor. He learns that he has pancreatic cancer and only 3 months to live. While stunned by the news, Choi U-Jin eventually decides to live the last 3 months of his life fully. He quits his job as an office worker, closes out his savings account and books a hotel suite for the next 3 months. Meanwhile, Sa-Rang (Kim Seul-Gi) worked with Choi U-Jin at his former office job and likes him a lot. In fact, she was the only woman who liked him there.

The dirge singer is paid to attend funerals and mourn for the dead. They are viewed as belonging to the lowest class. Yeon-Sim (Kim You-Jung) is brought up by her mother (Hwang Mi-Seon) to become a dirge singer like herself. Yeon-Sim refuses to follow in her mother's footsteps and cry for others. She flees to a home to become a gisaeng. Yun-Su (Seo Jun-Young) was born out of wedlock and is only half a noble person. Because of his birth status, he can't attain the stature that his brother (Kim Dong-Yun) has. Yun-Su and Yeon-Sim meet at a delicate moment in their lives.

Oh Man-Bok (Kim Hyang-Gi) lives with her family which includes her father (Park Chul-Min), mother (Ra Mi-Ran), older sister (Na Hae-Ryung) and older brother (Shin Dong-Woo). Her family loves her and treats her with kindness, but Oh Man-Bok still yearns to meet her birth father. After her birth parents separated, her mother passed away from cancer and her adoptive parents have taken care of her since then. One day, Oh Man-Bok watches a music competition TV program and realizes the song that is being performed is the same song her mother sang to her. During the show, the singer mentions that 10 years ago he met a guy in Chuncheon who wrote and performed the original song. After the original singer broke up with his love, he could no longer sing the song anymore and gave the song to him. Oh Man-Bok is convinced the original singer is her father.

Nearing the age of 40, Nam Gung-Sang (Kim C) is content with his bachelor life and working at his mid-level office job. He is particular about certain things and somewhat condescending towards those around him. Lee Eun-Hong (Woo Hee-Jin) works at the same comapny as Nam Gung-Sang and similar in age. After attending a funeral for a co-worker, they wake up in the same bed. Meanwhile, Nam Gung-Sang becomes interested in younger co-worker Yu Ji-A (Shin So-Yul).

Jeong-Suk holds a one year birthday party for her daughter. She invites her old college friends to her apartment for the party. Tension from their past soon simmers during the birthday celebration.

Tucked away in a corner of Hongdae, Seoul, South Korea is the curry restaurant "Cat's Restaurant" run by Yu-Mi. She doesn't have very many customers, but Yu-Mi tries to stay the course. One day, Yu-Mi's restaurant is vandalized and she notices a guy standing behind her. Yu-Mi ends up knocking him out with her groceries. When he wakes up, the guy is unable to remember his own name. Until he regains his memory, the man helps out at Yu-Mi's restaurant.

On a heavily rainy day, Na-Ra (Jung Eun-Chae) lost her beloved husband and Woo-Ki (Yoo Min-Kyu) lost his beloved father. Two years later, Na-Ra and Woo-Ki meet as a teacher and student at a high school. Since his father died on the rainy day, he is afraid of rain. Na-Ra tries to take care of Woo-Ki and they are able to console each other. Teachers and students at the school though, eye them suspiciously.
