Some time after Rikka returns to the school, the gang has a Christmas party at Sanae's mansion. As usual, Rikka tries to take the opportunity to improve her relationship with Yūta, while Makoto tries to get closer to Kumin with no success and Shinka keeps arguing with Sanae. However, the situation gets even more hectic when Rikka and Sanae get drunk upon eating some liquor cake. After Rikka gets asleep, Yūta takes her home with him, but before returning to their apartment, they end up taking a special boat ride where they have some quality time until the rest of the gang also appears there, much to their surprise. The still drunk Sanae then causes a commotion about how Rikka keeps talking about Yūta, almost dropping Rikka from the boat, but Yūta manages to catch her in time, while Sanae falls over Shinka, kissing her up by accident. Finally back home, Yūta is visited by Rikka, wearing a black Santa dress to bid him Merry Christmas.
Yuta begins to worry when it becomes apparent that Rikka may not come back. Sanae ditches her Dekomori persona to follow Rikka, while Kumin "inherits" Wicked Lord Shingan's powers. Yuta can't bear being without Rikka and sets off to find her.
Rikka begins to acclimate herself to living a normal life, successfully making friends in the process. Sanae, however, isn't too happy about it. Rikka heads off to visit her father's grave, with Yuta left at the station, waiting for her to return.
Rikka and Yuta each gets some advice from a friend. Rikka's sister reveals her intention of studying the culinary arts in France, and asks Yuta to help her with Rikka. Through their own special ways, Yuta and Rikka confess to each other.
The school festival is on, and amidst Shinka's attempts to turn their club into something legitimate, Rikka battles strange feelings that she only experiences when Yuta is around. Shinka decides to help her understand these feelings, but Rikka's full blown case of chunibyo keeps getting in the way.
After refusing to face the truth about her father, Rikka "retreats" to her home with Yuta in tow. Makoto is finding it tough to figure out his feelings for Kumin, and Yuta shares a night together with Rikka that impacts them both in a very meaningful way.
A trip to Rika's hometown reveals more about her than Yuta had anticipated. Dekomori continues her antics against her nemesis "Mori-Summer". Yuta and Rika escape the house and end up in a place Rika holds dear to her heart.
Rikka makes club uniforms for everyone, further humiliating Yuta; tension between Nibutani and Dekomori continues to grow. Isshiki receives a love letter, but his plans hit a snag before they even begin.
Rikka and Yuta face their low grades, and their club is fingered as the culprit! Rikka begins a new battle with her latest opponent: math! Meanwhile, Dekomori and Nibutani continue to butt heads.
Yuta is puzzled that Nibutani wants to join Rikka's club. He wonders if she could really like him back, but the answer he gets isn't the one he imagined!
Yuta tries to decide what club to join, but Rikka is already a step ahead of him. She creates the "Far-Eastern Magic Society" and manages to rope in two members. Given a provisional club status, Yuta revokes his membership... until Shinka joins the club, too.
Yuta wants to crush on the beautiful Shinka, but Rikka's antics prohibit it. A visit to Rikka's house reveals how delusional she really is. Her eclectic collections are almost stranger than her behavior! What's worse: Rikka's sister knows about Yuta's past!
After recovering from adolescent delusions, Yuta transfers schools to begin anew. As he tastes the succulent fruit of normalcy, Rikka Takanashi discovers Yuta's delusional past and declares that they are soul mates, which makes things anything but normal.

Problems arise for Yuta and Rikka after Makoto gives Yuta a USB containing pictures of an idol that he had a crush on in middle school. After Rikka asks Yuta to return the stick, he secretly keeps it and Rikka finds after sneaking into his room.
After failing her English pop quiz, Rikka takes a supplementary lesson from Nanase Tsukumo in the clubroom, while Yūta, Shinka, Kumin, Sanae, and Makoto Isshiki take watch. Nanase even implements the use of "translating" the name of Rikka's umbrella, Schwarz Sechs Perfect Customize Guerzoniansus, into the supplementary lesson.
At the apartment, Rikka tries to figure out with Yūta Togashi and Kuzuha Togashi as to why their pet cat Chimera has gained weight even after giving birth. They soon learn that Satone Shichimiya and Tōka Takanashi have each been secretly feeding Chimera behind their backs.
At the beach, Rikka, Shinka, Kumin, and Sanae play a second round of the game of word chains. Wanting to avenge her previous loss to Shinka, Rikka struggles in naming "cool fruits".

Mori Summer wants to talk about love, but with Rikka the only one with a love interest & her not having much to say about it the tables turn to Dekomori. Mori Summer is surprised to discover that Deko has something to contribute to the discussion of love aside from her love for her Master

The girls play a game of Shiritori at the Kotatsu, a Japanese word game where each player must say a word starting with the final kana of the previous word. But one of the girls plays dirty
In the past, Shinka and Satone Shichimiya spent a day with their two friends attempting to summon an archangel via summoning circle. The paper vessel ended up flying up in the sky due to the wind. In the present, Satone tells this story to Kumin in the clubroom, which embarrasses Shinka.
Kuzuha Togashi deals with Yūta during his chūnibyō persona during a camping trip. While going to fetch water at a nearby stream, Yūta protects Kuzuha from chestnuts on the ground. The rest of the family later enjoys a meal of curry, but Kuzuha notices that Yūta is sitting by the campfire with a block of meat.
In the clubroom, Yūta, Kumin, and Makoto Isshiki witness Shinka and Sanae Dekomori playing a game of Old Maid. After ten minutes, the game reaches a climax, in which the last card is torn in half due to Sanae refusing to hand it over to Shinka, thus they both lose and continue to bicker on their way home on a rainy day.
One day in junior high school, Tomo was roped into helping Rikka develop her apparent abilities. Rikka used Zener cards to test clairvoyance and determined the gender of who entered the classroom to test foresight, both with negative results.
In the clubroom, Yūta Togashi deals with Rikka Takanashi, who puts on a second eyepatch on her left eye after she gets infected with a stye, making her spatially blind. The other girls listen from the outside when Yūta tries to apply eye drops into Rikka's infected left eye.
Shinka's attempts at getting Kumin out of a kotatsu are met with some unexpected resistance.
With Christmas fast approaching, Rikka and Nibutani plan a Christmas party at Sanae's Mansion after Makoto's suggestion. Chaos ensues at the party as Rikka and Yuta continue exploring their burgeoning relationship.
