Mystery Science Theater 3000

Jonah and the bots are forced to watch Graham Greene humiliate himself with a cast of dozens in a rip-off of Pacific Rim.

Kinga decides to save time and money breaking Jonah's spirit by running a "gauntlet" of bad movies: six movies in a row. She starts with Mac and Me, a very bad ripoff of E.T.

In the first of two movies, a wizard boy dressed in mauve goes on a series of pointless quests with a doughy swordman and a white shag-rug companion.

The Mads try to raise a furor over Hitler-brand coffee. They fail. Then it's on with the movie, Yongary, a Korean ripoff of Godzilla that turns surprisingly dark in the last few minutes.

Jonah and the bots are forced to endure The Loves of Hercules, which features real-life husband-and-wife Jayne Mansfield and Mickey Hargitay as six of the biggest boobs in ancient Greece.

"Hi, I'm Doug McClure. You've probably seen me in a stink bomb like The Land That Time Forgot, featuring frozen pterodactyls, rubber dinosaurs, dingy cavemen, and countless scenes of periscopes going up and down."

The Mads present the 1978 Italian Star Wars knockoff Starcrash, with Caroline Monroe, Marjoe Gortner, Christopher Plummer, and David Hasselhoff embarrassing themselves for life.

Jonah and the bots take on The Beast of Hollow Mountain, a long slow cowboy-dinosaur movie that seems more interested in cowboy rope opera than the title monster. The latter doesn't show up until an hour into the movie.

A ski resort developer played by Rock Hudson tampers in God's domain and the result is a killer avalanche. Meanwhile, Tom and Servo rehearse Mad Bots, and Gypsy gives a one-robot performance, while Kinga sorta/kinda meets with her long-distance soulmate.

Joel and the bots take their shots at The Time Travelers, a 1960s movie about three hapless scientists and their even more hapless assistant, who go through a time portal and find themselves a hundred years in the future with the last of the human race.

Jonah and the bots take on Cry Wilderness, a creepy story of a boy and his Bigfoot. Meanwhile, Kinga gets a visit from her grandmother and her friends.

In Reptilicus. Copenhagen is terrorized by a prehistoric beast that has regenerated itself from a recently discovered tail segment. In the host segments, Gizmonic's crack space pilot Jonah Heston is lured to Moon Base 13 where he is the subject in a series of experiments created by Kinga Forrester to break his spirit by showing him cheesy movies. Only by riffing on the bad movies with the help of his new robot friends Tom Servo and Crow T. Robot can Jonah keep his sanity.

In the theater, the crew watches as a man bitten by a bat becomes a murderous bat-creature with werewolf rules, in “It Lives By Night” (1974). Meanwhile, on the SOL, Mike asks Tom and Crow for input on redecorating the satellite.

In the theater, the crew watches as a German television production of Shakespeare's tragedy proves to be unbearably dull in "Hamlet" (1961). Meanwhile, on the SOL, Mike and the bots play "Alas, Poor Whom?" trying to guess the deceased person based on a single bone from their body.

In the theater, the crew watches as a Texas sheriff heads to Malta to clumsily pursue a killer in "Final Justice" (1985). Meanwhile, on the SOL, Crow and Tom are cruel to poor Goosio, Friend to Maltese Children Everywhere.

In the theater, the crew watches as a mad scientist exacts revenge by transforming himself into a catfish and going on a killing spree in "Blood Waters of Dr. Z" (1971). Meanwhile, on the SOL, Mike and the bots decide to go fishing.

In the theater, the crew watches as cyborgs and tiny dinosaurs hunt down an escaped slave in a dystopian future in "Future War" (1997). Meanwhile, on the SOL, Tom Servo challenges Gypsy to a kickboxing match.

On Earth, the other Observers return to take back Brain Guy and Bobo and Pearl sing a song to convince Brain Guy to stay.

Meanwhile, on the SOL, Mike tries cooking, Servo does a tribute to the seventies (the 70s AD, not the 1970s), Servo becomes a trucker, and the Crew tries to inject characters into a movie. On the Camping Planet, evil robots attack Pearl, Bobo, and Brain Guy.

In the theater, the crew watches as a young man attempts to break a curse, and a young woman works for her wicked stepmother in "Jack Frost" (1965). Meanwhile, on the SOL, Russian-American comic Yakov Smirnoff visits via the Hexfield Viewscreen.

In the theater, the crew watches as a carnival fortune teller turns men into mindless zombies to go out and kill for her in "The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies" (1964). Meanwhile, on the SOL, Mike gets a new hairstyle from Shelli the Nanite.

In the theater, the crew watches as a young man discovers he and his friends only exist to be harvested for their 'spare parts' in "Parts: The Clonus Horror" (1979). Meanwhile, Pearl, Professor Bobo, and Brain Guy find themselves reluctantly babysitting a trio of all-powerful Space Children.

In the theater, the crew watches as hillbillies and scientists join forces to protect their town from a giant alien spider in "The Giant Spider Invasion" (1975). Meanwhile, on the SOL, Mike and the bots fight off an infestation of mind-controlling alien pods.

Meanwhile, on the SOL, Servo declines the position of SOL commander, Pearl leaves the SOL functioning only on battery power, the crew deals with the aliens attacking the ship, and Crow opens a breakfast place.

In the theater, the crew watches as a hypnotist's beautiful assistant is transformed into a primeval creature and sent out on a killing spree in "The She-Creature" (1956). Meanwhile, on the SOL, Mike creeps everyone out with his custom Tickle-Me-Carlo-Lombari doll.

In the theater, the crew watches a scientist use a time machine to bring back a creature from the year 5000. On the SOL, the crew samples some of the Observers' food, Crow goes back in time to visit Mike's family, and Mike summons the Terror from the Year 5000 to be Crow's blind date.

In the theater, the crew watches as a hypnotist sends a woman from the present back into the distant past in "The Undead" (1957). Meanwhile, on the SOL, Servo's invitation to join the Observers doesn't go well.

The SOL is pulled into orbit over a strange planet of the Observers. The Observers insist on observing the crew watch "The Thing That Couldn't Die" (1958) where the decapitated head of a dead Spaniard curses a household of farmers and leads to senseless deaths. On the SOL, an Observer appears, but Mike and the bots are annoyed to the point that they throw him off the ship.

In the theater, the crew watches as a praying mantis is exposed to atomic radiation and attacks the North Pole in "The Deadly Mantis" (1957). Meanwhile, on Earth, Pearl, Bobo, and Dr. Peanut accidentally (with help from Mike) detonate a bomb that destroys the planet. The crew holds a memorial service for Pearl only for her to call them and vow to hunt them down across space.

In the theater, the crew watches an archeological encounter an underground civilization in "The Mole People" (1956). Meanwhile, on the SOL, Crow tries to enslave Gypsy, Mike, and Servo, and later conducts an archaeological dig through the SOL. On Earth, Pearl demands a parade in her honor.

In the theater, the crew watches a sordid tale about the fountain of youth and a woman who wishes to be younger in "Leech Woman" (1960). Meanwhile, on the SOL, Crow rids the SOL of a prairie dog problem, the Nanites go on strike, Servo and Crow attack Mike to extract eternal youth from him, Servo demands that Crow and Mike play "Beverly Hillbillies." On Earth, Mike convinces the apes to revert to their monkey nature, which causes Pearl to get upset.

Mike, Servo, and Gypsy return to the SOL to find the year is now 2525, Crow has been there alone for a VERY long time, and the earth is being ruled by apes. Following orders from their Lawgiver, the apes force the crew to watch a mutant fish-man escape from captivity at a Florida aquarium in "Revenge of the Creature" (1955).

In the theater, the crew watches as a blind woman unknowingly hosts a misshapen serial killer in her home in "The Brute Man" (1946). Meanwhile, on the SOL, Mike can't bear to have Servo gestating in an egg for 21 days.

In the theater, the crew watches as an astronaut finds himself pregnant with alien embryos in "Night of the Blood Beast" (1958). Meanwhile, in Deep 13, Dr. Forrester is adjusting to his overbearing mother now living with him.

In the theater, the crew watches as secret agent Bart Fargo attempts to retrieve a death ray from a criminal organization in "Danger!! Death Ray" (1967). Meanwhile, on the SOL, Cambot is heartbroken over all the security cameras blown up in the film.

In the theater, the crew watches as an escaped criminal joins in the Bay of Pigs invasion in "Red Zone Cuba" (1966). Meanwhile, on the SOL, Mike believes he is Carol Channing. This episode features the short "Speech: Platform Posture and Appearance" (1949) and also the "Bouncy Upbeat Song."

Meanwhile, on the SOL, inspired by the short, Mike and the bots introduce a line of specialty breads made with unconventional "ingredients." This episode features the short Out of this World.

In the theater, the crew watches as legendary Russian hero, Illya Morometz, battles the forces of an evil warlord with the help of a magic sword in "The Sword and the Dragon" (1956). Meanwhile, on the SOL, the Russian swordsman himself drops by on the Hexfield Viewscreen.

In the theater, the crew watches as a gym owner uses a stable of female wrestlers as a front for a criminal organization in "Racket Girls" (1951). Meanwhile, on the SOL, Crow and Servo plan their wedding. This episode features the short "Are You Ready for Marriage?" (1950).

In the theater, the crew watches as a beefy jock is raised from the dead and seeks revenge on his murderers in "Zombie Nightmare" (1987). Meanwhile, on the SOL, Mike ruins the bots' hot tub session.

On the SOL, Mike moderates a debate between Servo and Crow, Jan in the Pan is thrilled with Mike's Urkel imitation, so are the Mads, Pitch, and Santa Claus, and Torgo ruins everyone's good time about Mike's Urkel.

In the theater, the crew watches as a cop tries to shut down a "smut-picture racket" that may be connected to a series of killings in "The Sinister Urge" (1960). Meanwhile, on the SOL, Mike and the bots must reluctantly figure out a way to save Dr. Forrester from being blown up by TV's Frank. This episode features the short "Keeping Clean and Neat" (1956).

In the theater, the crew watches as a lot of airplanes are refueled mid-flight during a young Air Force pilot's training in "The Starfighters" (1964). Meanwhile, on the SOL, The United Servo Academy Men's Chorus stages a gripping performance.

In the theater, the crew watches as a rivalry between two ranches over a herd of wild horses ends in murder in "Last of the Wild Horses" (1948). Meanwhile, on the SOL, Mike and the bots meet their Mirror-Verse counterparts. This episode features a reprise of the song "Joey the Lemur."

On the SOL, Servo does the crew's taxes, the SOL deals with NummyMuffinCooColButter - the worlds cutest pet - which has been given to them by Dr. Forrester, and the crew talks discusses decapitation.

In the short "The Selling Wizard" (1954), an unseen narrator and a mute 'Pizza Dominatrix' explain the benefits of freezer cases to grocery store owners. In "The Dead Talk Back" (1957), a crackpot 'scientist' invents the machine that can supposedly communicate with the dead and uses it to help solve a murder. On the SOL, Servo and crow host "The Dead Talk Back" radio show, the crew dresses as the Grateful Dead, and the crew is interrogated by Dr. Forrester, but he is interrupted when Frank confesses.

In the theater, the crew watches as a group of people in a bar witness a Soviet takeover, in "Invasion USA" (1952). Meanwhile, on the Satellite of Love, Crow gives a lecture about Lois Lanes. This episode features the short "A Date with Your Family" (1950).

In the theater, the crew watches a women sent to a convent after being accused of killing a man. On the SOL, Crow hires the Power Steves for a party the crew is having, Servo scats in honor of Mel Torme, and the crew designs the woman of the future. In Deep 13: Dr. Forrester presents the Umbilicus, a giant cable connecting Deep 13 to the SOL. It connects directly to Gypsy, who is not pleased.

In the theater, the crew watches as the astonishing power of radar is used to track down criminals selling atomic gear on the black market in "Radar Secret Service" (1950). Meanwhile, on the SOL, the bots throw Mike a 10-year high school reunion based on information gathered from Mike's yearbook.

In the theater, the crew watches as a college professor named Cabot returns to the magical planet Gor to battle a wicked queen and an evil sorcerer in "Outlaw" (1989). Meanwhile, on the SOL, Mike and the bots do their best Jack Palance impressions as they read from the book "Palance on Palance."

In the theater, the crew watches as an aging socialite lures young women to her mansion in an attempt to transplant her brain into one of their bodies in "The Atomic Brain" (1964). Meanwhile, on the SOL, the bots are unsettled by Mike's chin puppet demonstration. This episode features the short "What About Juvenile Delinquency?" (1955).

Meanwhile, on the SOL, Mike, inspired by the short, insists the bots each write essays about cheating. This episode features the short "Discussion Problems in Group Living: Cheating" (1952).

In the theater, the crew watches as a troubled teen is accused of murder when a serial killer terrorizes a small town in "Teen-Age Strangler" (1964). Meanwhile, on the SOL, the bots fit Mike with a modified pair of glasses that make him act like the teenage star of the film. This episode features the short "Is This Love?" (1957) and the song, "I'm a Janitor."

In the theater, the crew watches as a scientist keeps his girlfriend's severed head alive in a pan while he tries to find her a new body in "The Brain that Wouldn't Die" (1962). Meanwhile, on the SOL, Mike and the bots are visited by Jan in the Pan, the bodiless lady in the film.

In the theater, the crew watches as a young man gets involved in a crime syndicate and ends up blaming his downfall on his inattentive parents in "I Accuse My Parents" (1944). Meanwhile, on the SOL, Gypsy helps to re-enact the nightclub scene in the movie. This episode features the short "The Truck Farmer" (1954).

In the theater, the crew watches as a young woman and her singer boyfriend rescue her father from a giant caveman living in a California desert in "Eegah" (1962). Meanwhile, on the SOL, the bots alter Joel's face to resemble Arch Hall, Jr.

In the theater, the crew watches as the Russian folk hero Sadko seeks the Bluebird of Happiness to bring back to his unhappy city in "The Magic Voyage of Sinbad" (1953). Meanwhile on the SOL, Servo leaves for his own Sinbad-like adventure.

In the theater, the crew watches as a road warrior with a talking motorcycle take on a fascist dictator in a dystopian future in "Warrior of the Lost World" (1984). Meanwhile, on the SOL, Joel and the bots discuss their own post-Apocalyptic plans.

In the theater, the crew watches as Hercules and Jason search for the legendary Golden Fleece in "Hercules" (1958). Meanwhile, on the SOL, Joel and the bots get a visit from some Amazons via the Hexfield Viewscreen.

Meanwhile, on the SOL, Tom Servo decides to duplicate himself, but finds that his clones aren't blindly obedient like he'd hoped. This episode features Michael J. Nelson as Hugh Beaumont and Kevin Murphy as William Conrad.

In the theater, the crew watches as a coffeehouse regular hires three bumbling crooks to help him rob an armored car in "The Rebel Set" (1959). Meanwhile, on the SOL, Joel and the Bots keep busy with writing workshops and acting lessons. This episode features the short "Johnny at the Fair."

Movie Plot: A really bad alien movie that features aliens with many eyes that land on Earth. On the SOL: Servo and Crow become best buddies / Servo needs to kiss someone / the crew celebrates Earl Holiman / the crew tries to prove that the movie's producers didn't care. In Deep 13: The mads use a Router Ouija Board to contact dead wood-workers / Larry Buchanan (the movie's director) confirms that nobody on the crew cared.

In the theater, the crew watches as Space Ranger Rocky Jones returns to rescue a planet that's on a collision course with a moon in "Crash of the Moons" (1954). Meanwhile, on the SOL, Joel and the bots do a read-through of Crow's spec script. This episode features the short "General Hospital (Segment 3)." Crow and Servo perform the song "Gypsy Moons."

Movie Plot: A very odd movie about an expedition to one of the moons of Jupiter, which is inhabited by a refugee from Atlantis and his many daughters. On the SOL: Joel helps the 'bots with posture / Crow meets Timmy (the evil version of himself) / Joel explains the double entendre / Timmy attacks Crow and holds Servo hostage until Joel throws him off the satellite. In Deep 13: The Mads present the giant checkbook for use for prizes and charity events, Frank writes a check for 1.5 million dollars with out telling Dr. Forrester / Timmy ends up in Deep 13 and attacks Frank.

In the theater, the crew watches as a delinquent teen catches his big break as a singer, only to have his career threatened by his resentful former gang in "The Beatniks" (1960). Start with the The Deadly Bees, but set it in the deep, deep, deep south, replace the female pop singer with a male lead who's also blonde and only slightly less feminine, replace bees with worms, and that's about it. There are lots of worms in this movie, and possibly the best stinger line in series history ("You gonna be da worm face!") Unlike The Deadly Bees this movie has lots and lots of location shots. However they don't make the movie any better--only that much more sad and distressing. Like Roger Corman's films, the plot is revealed during extremely long stretches of exposition between disconnected bursts of action, making the film more of a slideshow than anything else. The hero isn't, the special effects aren't, and the plot revolves around the idea that a bunch of inbred hillbillies are too stupid to leave a dangerous situation (so at least the plot is somewhat plausible).

An adventurer sets sail in search of the bird of happiness in Sadko. Crow has trouble with his own lifelong quest and the guys have a meeting of the Junior Jester Club.

Today's experiment includes the stilted educational short, What to Do on a Date, which inspires Tom Servo to ask out Gypsy. The feature film is the Roger Corman adventure flick, Swamp Women, starring Mike Connors back when he called himself Touch. A ridiculously easy jailbreak, a woman who seems to be in a swimming pool when she's supposed to be drowning in a swamp, and endless stock footage of a bayou are three features of this cinematic torture instrument. Meanwhile, the Mads invent a new feature for TV sets. Joel invents the Andrew Lloyd Weber grill. Crow and Tom Servo make fun of "Star Trek." Written by J. Spurlin
