Lindisfarne is steeped in history with an ancient Irish connection as St. Aidan founded a monastery on the island in the 7th century, creating a seat of Celtic Christianity.

Newcastle’s most recognisable bridge is the Tyne Bridge, one of the first bridges in the world to be designed by a woman, Dorothy Buchanan who also designed the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
