Stardate: 46830.1. Dr. Crusher puts her career on the line when she tries to clear the name of a murdered scientist whose invention could allow starships to pass through a sun's corona.

Stardate: 46778.1. Riker questions his sanity when his reality seems to shift between an alien psychiatric hospital and a play he is performing with other members of the crew.

Stardate: 46731.5. Picard's old archaeology professor is found murdered, the crew try to complete his research. Soon, the crew must compete with Romulans and Klingons and Cardassians to uncover the truth behind his discoveries.

Stardate: 46693.1. Picard must choose between love and command when he must make a decision that could place the woman he loves in a potentially deadly and high-risk mission.

Stardate: 46071.6. Deanna becomes attracted to an alien ambassador. Shortly thereafter, she starts ageing rapidly and starts becoming violent.

Stardate: 46041.1. Lt. Barclay's fear of using transporters is eerily justified when he sees bizarre aliens within the transporter beam.

Stardate: 46001.3. The away team's investigations are hampered by a nosy Samuel Clemens. Picard discovers that he originally met Guinan in the 1890s on Earth.

Stardate: 45832.1. While exploring a strange form of energy in a region of space, a little girl's imaginary friend becomes real and places the Enterprise in great danger.

Stardate: 45761.3. The Ferengi try to abduct an empathic Metamorph who could bring peace between two warring worlds.

Stardate: 45733.6. Deanna's mother pays a surprise visit to the Enterprise with even more surprising news: she plans to marry a man she has never met. After destroying an asteroid, the ship becomes infected with parasites that eat away at the ship's hull.

Stardate: 45703.9. Wesley is involved in a cover-up at Starfleet Academy when a cadet is killed and five shuttles are destroyed during a forbidden maneuver performed by Starfleet Academy's best cadets.

Stardate: 45652.1. While exploring the Typhon Expanse, the Enterprise is caught in a time warp in which they are repeatedly destroyed while colliding with another starship.

Stardate: 45614.6. While investigating the disappearance of a J'naii shuttlecraft, the crew finds reason to believe the missing ship is stranded in an abnormal pocket called "null space." Riker and Soren, a member of the J'naii race, begin preparing to rescue the craft, and the two strike up a friendship. Their relationship develops quickly as the pair question each other about mating habits, since the J'naii are androgynous and do not identify themselves as either male or female. Despite this difference, sparks begin to fly between them.

Stardate: 45587.3. When Worf is paralysed in an accident he must undergo drastic back surgery. However, this experimental technique may cost him his life.

Stardate: 45571.2. While en route to the source of a subspace distress signal coming from a desolate moon, Data, Troi and O'Brien take over the bridge and force the ship to change course.

Stardate: 45494.2. The Enterprise crew unknowingly receives a new first officer who claims that the Federation is at war with another species.

Stardate: 45470.1. A natural disaster in the core of a system's sun threatens to destroy a colony of genetically engineered people on an otherwise desolate planet. However, the crew's intervention may cause more harm than good.

Stardate: 45429.3. While escorting a group of telepaths, crew members on board the Enterprise suddenly start to slip into comas.

Stardate: 45397.3. The Enterprise investigates the cause of an explosion that destroyed a small ship and its entire crew, except for a small boy.

Stardate: 45376.3. Worf's son, Alexander, unexpectedly arrives on the Enterprise to stay with his father. However, Alexander wants to stay permanently.

Stardate: 45349.1. While on a mission to help a planet recently struck by an asteroid, the Enterprise is paid a visit by a man who claims to be from the future.

Stardate: 45245.8. Picard and Data find Spock and discover the reason behind the secret meetings. However, a darker scheme planned by the Romulans is also uncovered in the process.

Stardate: 45233.1. Ambassador Spock has disappeared and intelligence finds him on Romulus. Captain Picard is sent to Romulus to find Spock. Meanwhile Riker and the rest of the crew investigate the fragments of a Vulcan ship discovered in the wreck of a Ferengi vessel.

An addictive game is distributed among the crew of the Enterprise, however, it appears that this game interferes with a person's logic and reason, which leaves the crew open to manipulation. Only a young Ensign and a vacationing Wesley Crusher are able to think for themselves, and must find a way to reverse the damage before the ship falls into the wrong hands.

Stardate: 45156.1. A natural disaster leaves Troi in command of the Enterprise, Picard stuck in a turbo lift with three small children and Keiko O'Brien stuck in Ten-Forward giving birth with an anxious Worf.

Stardate: 45122.3. Picard attempts communications with the Crystalline Entity - a life form responsible for hundreds of deaths throughout the Alpha Quadrant. However, a scientist on board the Enterprise has plans of revenge over the death of her only son at the hands of the Entity.

Stardate: 45076.3. Picard exposes a planned genocidal attack on the Bajorans with the help of a new officer, Ensign Ro Laren.

Stardate: 45047.2. Picard must find a way to communicate with the newly discovered Tamarians, who speak entirely in metaphors, when a Tamarian Captain is brutally killed.

Stardate: 45020.4. Picard suspects a Romulan influence in the recent Klingon civil war, and must force the Federation to intervene before the Empire collapses.

Stardate 44012.3. Picard meets with his older brother in France, and contemplates resigning his Starfleet commission after his ordeal with the Borg. Worf's adoptive parents spend time with their son on the Enterprise, and succeed in embarrassing him in front of his crewmates.

Stardate: 44001.4. Riker must pull out all the stops in order to save Earth from a Borg invasion being lead by none other than Locutus - otherwise known as Captain Jean-Luc Picard.

Stardate: 43872.2. The crew are shattered by the apparent death of Data in a shuttle explosion, and are prevented from carrying out a detailed investigation when Starfleet gives them orders for a new mission elsewhere. However, the crew don't realize that he was actually abducted and placed on display as part of a collection of rare and valuable items held by a disreputable character.

Stardate: 43807.4. A nervous and insecure officer, Lt. Reginald Barclay, places the Enterprise in great danger when he neglects his duties in Engineering, and instead spends his time acting out his fantasies on the holodeck.

Stardate: 43779.3. The Enterprise encounters a 'living' ship in the Neutral Zone, and risks breaking the Romulan Federation alliance in order to bring it into contact with a Betazoid emissary.

Stardate: 43745.2. While on vacation on Risa, Captain Picard encounters two Vorgons from the 27th Century who claim they are searching for a powerful weapon hidden somewhere on the planet.

Stardate: 43714.1. Picard is secretly abducted and switched with an alien double. The crews' suspicions are raised when he starts exhibiting unusual behaviour, and is relieved of command.

Stardate: 43685.2. Worf is reunited with his long-lost brother when their father is charged with treason for helping the Romulans. Together they make an appeal to the Klingon High Council to challenge the charges, and have them revoked.

Stardate: 43657.0. Data becomes a father when he creates a Soong-type android in the form of a daughter named Lal. Issues are complicated when Lal starts showing signs of a more evolved consciousness, including the ability to feel emotions, which attracts the attention of Starfleet scientists who want to take her away from Data and examine her advanced systems.

Stardate: 43625.2. A rift in the space/time continuum brings the U.S.S. Enterprise - C forward into the 24th Century, and alters the timeline. In this future, the Federation is at war with the Klingons, Tasha Yar is on the bridge, Worf did not join the Federation, and only Guinan's unique perception of reality may restore the timeline.

Stardate: 43610.4. Riker is accused of murder when a scientist is killed in an explosion. Picard must recreate the recent events in the holodeck to prove his commander's innocence.

Stardate: 43539.1. A Calamarian starts attacking the Enterprise while seeking revenge on a powerless Q.

Stardate: 43510.7. Dr. Crusher is abducted by a group of terrorists while delivering crucial medical supplies to a planet ravaged by civil war.

Stardate: 43489.2. A potentially new member of the Federation enlists the help of the Enterprise to track down a wanted criminal who has a reputation for his excessive violence. However, the fugitive's actions may not be of his own will.

Stardate: 43462.5. A defecting Romulan warns the Federation about an impending attack by the Romulans, who are secretly establishing bases within the Neutral Zone.

Stardate: 43421.9. The Enterprise crew tries to mend the relationship between a race known as the Acamarians and a faction known as the Gatherers.

Stardate: 43385.6. The Enterprise hosts the negotiations for the rights to a newly discovered, stable wormhole to the Delta Quadrant. One of the negotiators, Devinoni Ral, becomes attracted to Deanna Troi, but he holds a dubious secret.

Stardate:43349.2. A blind Geordie is trapped on a hazardous planet with a paranoid and severely injured Romulan. In orbit, a Romulan Warbird is preventing the Enterprise from attempting a rescue mission.

Stardate: 43205.6. While investigating an ancient ship left adrift in space, the Enterprise accidentally trips the ancient booby trap that disabled the old vessel over 1000 years ago.

Worf and Wesley must help a 12 year old boy cope with the death of his mother; an archaeologist killed during an away mission to a deserted planet.

Stardate: 43173.5. An away team inadvertently breaks the Prime Directive and reveal themselves to a primitive culture on Mintaka III, causing the inhabitants believe that Captain Picard is a God.

Stardate: 43152.4. The Enterprise discovers a planet that has had all life eradicated, except for two mysterious residents and their home, which has been left in perfect condition.

Stardate: 43133.3. A human colony is forced to evacuate a planet when the original inhabitants return and threaten the colonists with annihilation if they do not leave within four days.

Stardate: 43125.8. A system-wide computer malfunction places the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise in grave danger while they are escorting a scientist to a star in the process of exploding.

Stardate: 42823.2. Picard must convince two dying civilizations that they must co-exist on the same planet to survive, however, they have other plans to ensure their survival: in the form of clones of the Enterprise crew.

Stardate: 42779.1. A race known as the Pakleds kidnap Geordi La Forge. Picard must face surgery when he is left in a near-dead state.

Stardate: 41294.5. The mother of Deanna Troi, Lwaxana, pays a surprise visit to the Enterprise and announces the prearranged marriage of Deanna to the son of her mother's late husband's best friend.

During their journey, they encounter an omnipotent being known as Q. Q accuses humanity of barbarism, and places humanity on trial. Jean-Luc must prove otherwise or the human race will be annihilated.

Scene 25 Ext. Maquis Settlement – Day Ensign Ro, an undercover agent in a Maquis settlement, is finally gaining acceptance in the close-knit group. Ro finds herself opening up to them, as well. Scene 45 (partial) Int. Observation Lounge As Picard details Starfleet’s plans to stop the Maquis, Ro begins to realize that her feelings for the freedom fighters are deeper than she had thought.

Scene 40 Int. Ferengi Bridge As tensions between Picard and Bok continue to rise, Jason tries to use his street smarts to dissuade Bok from hurting him. Besides, Ferengi ethics might just work in his favor.

Scene 14 Int. Corridor (partial) Young Alexander has made it clear that he doesn’t like Klingon martial arts exercises. Worf is frustrated, but K’mtar has what he hopes is a better idea. Scene 23 Int. Troi’s Quarters Worf shares his doubts about his son’s future and about his choices as Alexander’s father. Troi helps him see that he’s done a good job, but larger issues remain.

Scene 5 Int. Wesley’s Quarters Wesley’s back on the Enterprise for a vacation from the Academy, but his first encounter with Picard goes very badly. Picard is gracious as always, but begins to suspect there may be something wrong that Wesley’s not talking about.

Scene 18 Int. Bridge Riker and company are perplexed and behaving strangely. They don’t yet realize that they’re all suffering from Barclay’s Protomorphosis Syndrome.

Scene 8 Int. Ten Forward Strangeness with food and drinks hints at the mystery to come. We’d gently correct Geordi: Comets contain rock, but are largely ice, snow, and frozen gasses. This scene would have been the first after the main title. Scene 25 (partial) Int. Observation Lounge As the mystery deepens, our heroes recap what they’ve just learned about Data’s multiple alien personalities, hinting at the ancient conflict now playing out in Data’s body. Scene 37 (partial) Int. Bridge Speculation on the purpose of the alien archive’s takeover of the Enterprise. The final version of the scene cuts directly to Picard’s determination to do something about it.

Scene 10 (partial) Int. Home – Day Little Gia wants to name the amnesiac Data after a character in a story. In deleted lines, Gia recalls the children’s story, echoing the theme of the episode itself.

Scene 1 (partial) Ext. Planet Surface – Cemetery – Day Beverly eulogizes her beloved late grandmother. Felisa Howard was named for Star Trek: TNG production manager Merri Howard. Scene 9 (partial) Ext. Planet Surface – Cemetery – Day Beverly and Deanna chat after the funeral. This deleted dialog includes a brief reference to Jack Crusher, Beverly’s husband who died while serving aboard the Stargazer. Scene 19 (partial) Ext. Planet Surface – Cemetery – Day After their stormy initial meeting, Quint tries again to warn Beverly that something strange happened to her grandmother, and that the same thing could happen to her.

Scene 44 Int. Observation Lounge Discussion of the “many worlds” interpretation of quantum mechanics. As weird as this sounds, this is a real scientific theory that suggests that all possible alternate histories may be real.

Scene 3 (partial) Int. Ten Forward Juliana is delighted to be reunited with her “son”, but Data has no memory of his “mother”. Juliana’s deleted recollection reminds us that Noonien Soong was not only brilliant, but eccentric. Scene 8B Int. Troi’s Quarters Data looks to Counselor Troi for advice. Although largely redundant, this scene includes a delightful callback to Data’s own experience with parenthood in “The Offspring” (S03E16). Scene 15 (partial) Int. Ten Forward Before Juliana’s revelation that she left Data behind on Omicron Theta, she tells of the power of the emotion of guilt. Believing that Data is fundamentally different from her, Juliana doesn’t expect him to understand. Scene 31 Int. Ten Forward Friends congratulate Data and Juliana after their recital. Arboretum As Lwaxana Troi tells Deanna for the first time that she had an older sister, they experience a brief flashback to the memory of that awful moment, as shared by Lwaxana and her late husband. Scene 48 (partial) Int. Troi’s Quarters A warm mother-daughter exchange, as Lwaxana tells Deanna about the sister she never knew. The final episode omits their exchange, cutting directly to the photo closeup.

Scene 17 Int. Mercenary Ship – Bridge Riker improvises brilliantly, working to maintain his relationship with Baran while subtly dissuading the mercenary captain from unnecessary bloodshed. Scene 25 (partial) Int. Mercenary Ship – Bridge The news that the Klingon shuttle is on the Enterprise is bad for Baran. Picard and Riker continue to role-play as they improvise a brilliant response to the development.

Scene 2 (partial) Int. Bar Troi is an undercover investigator in a seedy alien bar. It’s dangerous work, but Troi obviously relishes it, even more so in these deleted lines. Scene 7 Int. Sickbay Riker and Crusher come to terms with the realization that Picard is (apparently) dead. In the final cut of this episode, the information in this scene is compressed into Riker’s log entry, which wasn’t in the script. Scene 11 (partial) Int. Yranac’s Quarters Yranac thinks he has the upper hand with Riker, but Riker’s no pushover. Just a bit of deleted additional banter between the two, interspersed into the scene. Scene 49 (partial) Int. Mercenary Bridge As Baran reveals his plans for the raid, Picard scrambles to manipulate the situation to protect the outpost while keeping his mission on track.

Scene 24 Int. Worf’s Quarters Worf needs no help being annoyed with Ambassador Byleth, but this deleted scene makes one wonder why the Klingon didn’t take care of the problem with a quick swing of the bat’leth.

Scene 16 (partial) Int. Borg Cell Data talks about his new-found emotions. These lines were cut because they are redundant, but they underscore the power of Data’s new feelings and Lore’s control over him. Scene 56 Int. Borg Cell Riker and Worf spring Troi and Geordi, setting the stage for the finale.

Scene 36B Int. Sickbay Mr. Mot, the ship’s barber, is an important part of the crew, but maybe not quite as important as he’d like. A bit of comic relief in the midst of the mystery/adventure story.

Jungle Worf continues legend of Kahless, which contradicts the version in “Rightful Heir” (S06E23). Scene 49 (partial) Int. Meeting Hall Tokath, a compassionate ex-soldier, faces Worf’s insistence on being executed. Scene 51 Ext. Compound Tokath tries to prevent Worf from becoming a martyr as tensions rise. Scene 55 Int. Scene 7 Ext. White Limbo Picard finds it hard to believe he’s really dead. Nevertheless, Q doesn’t mind taunting him a little bit more in this deleted clip. Scene 26 (partial) Int. Bonestell Facility – Bar Picard and Marta, the morning after. Everything’s different between them, but not in a good way. Deleted lines from Marta accentuate Picard’s chagrin even further. Scene 34 Int. Engineering Picard has avoided the “mistakes” of his youth. This deleted scene, which would have been the opening of Act V, brings the shocking dreariness of his new life into even sharper focus.

Scene 10 (partial) Int. Deseve’s Quarters Deseve, the former Romulan defector, now realizes the Federation is no longer home to him. In this deleted clip, he realizes that he’s more alone than he’s ever been.

Scene 3 (partial) Int. Holodeck/Corridor Barclay is surprised to learn that holodeck character Moriarty experiences discomfort whenever he flashes on or off. But Holmes’s adversary has much bigger things on his mind. Scene 8 (partial) Int. Holodeck/Corridor Moriarty wants desperately to gain physical existence. But the Enterprise crew does not yet know the lengths to which he’ll go to live in the material world.

Scene 10 Int. Amanda’s Quarters Amanda is frightened that others will discover her new-found powers, but she clings to her dream of a normal life and a career in Starfleet. Also, she loves puppies.

Scene 20 Int. Scott’s Quarters Scotty feels sorry for himself because he doesn’t fit into the world of the 24th century. In this deleted scene, Troi tries to help, but only manages to make things worse.

Scenes 10, 10A, & 11 Int. Infirmary & Ext. Infirmary Street Back in 19th century San Francisco, Beverly tries to cope with ancient medicine and ancient attitudes, while her shipmates are increasingly concerned about the mysterious invaders.

Kamin Main Room Picard still does not know he is living another life on a long-dead planet. But Eline’s love and concern for Kamin is there, as always. This deleted dialog was originally to be just after the Main Title. Scene 25 Int. Main Bridge The bridge crew tries to figure out what has happened to Captain Picard. Scenes 74, 74A, & 74B Int. Main Bridge While Picard’s mind continues to experience the memory of Kamin’s life on the long-dead planet Kataan, Dr. Crusher uncovers subtle clues of what is happening to her captain – and to Kamin. Scene 77 (partial) Int. Kamin Main Room More heartbreak as Meribor tells her father she is determined that her child will live a good life, despite the sure knowledge that young Kamie will die along with the rest of the people of Kataan.

Scene 62 (partial) Int. Holodeck/Ceremonial Chamber Despite his best intentions, Picard has fallen in love with Kamala. She feels the same for him, but both know that duty requires her to marry another man. These deleted shots reveal Picard’s fantasy for their impossible love.

Scenes 53, 53A, & 53B Int. Transporter Room Lwaxana Troi has agreed to marry a man she’s never met. She’s taken aback when her free-spirited ways run into the brick wall of her fiancé’s inflexibility. Scene 57 Int. Troi’s Office Troi counsels Worf, but they’re not listening to each other. Each is consumed in their own family problems, reflecting the episode’s theme.

Scenes 10 (partial) & 11 Int. Academy Hearing Room Deleted dialogue from Scene 10 shows a hint of a father’s grief as Albert tries to learn about his son’s fatal accident. In Scene 11, Dr. Beverly Crusher tries to comfort the father. She does not yet know that Wesley shares responsibility for Cadet Albert’s death. Scene 51A Int. Corridor Dr. Beverly Crusher struggles with the awful realization that her son shares responsibility for the fatal accident. Picard has come to the same conclusion.

Scenes 33 & 34 Int. Engineering Riker has shared a romantic moment with Soren. Unfortunately, gender-based attraction is strictly forbidden in J’naii society. And those who defy J’naii tradition are not looked upon kindly.

Scene 39 Int. Worf’s Sickbay Room Dr. Beverly Crusher thinks Worf’s paralysis can be partially cured, despite the seriousness of his recent spinal injury. But that’s not the Klingon way.

Keiko isn’t sure about Miles’s idea of comfort food. More importantly, she is concerned that something is bothering her husband. Scene 30 Int. Main Bridge Tracking the Starship Phoenix as Ben Maxwell prepares to ambush Cardassian ships. Picard is under orders to stop Maxwell at any cost. Scene 41 Int. Main Bridge Captain Ben Maxwell has finally come on board the Enterprise. On his way to Picard’s ready room, he is dismayed to see an old enemy being treated as a guest on the bridge.

Scene 37 (partial) Int. Cavern Picard and Wesley are trapped in a cavern on a distant planet. Wesley tends to his captain, who has been very seriously injured. They share a close moment in this deleted dialog. Scene 63 Int. Main Bridge The bridge crew finally locates the crashed shuttlecraft that had carried Picard and Wesley.

Scene 37 (partial) Int. Dr. Soong’s Laboratory Data meets his creator, legendary scientist Dr. Soong, for the first time. Soong had long been thought to be dead, and Data is in awe of his “father”. Data and Soong are both played by Brent Spiner.

Scene 35 (partial) Int. Holodeck Wesley sees a hologram of Jack, his late father. Jack had recorded this message for his son on the day that Wesley was born. Most of Jack’s speech is in the finished episode, but two paragraphs which Jack tells his son about their family history were omitted.
