The Academy

KAM MO and his gang have arrived at FIONA’s house in a car. FIONA recognized them as they are subduing FOOK. MING leaves in a hurry and bumps into KEN when KAM MO is kidnapping FIONA. He knocks KEN down; KEN falls into unconsciousness. FIONA has woken up. She is shocked to see KEN has also been kidnapped. KEN is trying to escape when FIONA asks if he loves her. KEN smiles and nods. MING wants to help KEN and FIONA leave but he has been discovered. KEN and FIONA have got out of there after much effort. KEN brings FOOK home. FOOK tries to speak but then gives it a second thought when he sees KEN and SING getting along so well. FA is going to where MING is to help him leave Hong Kong. MAN follows her to MING’s place and persuades him to turn himself in. Meanwhile, the police have arrived. MING scolds FA for betraying him. KEN sees on the paper a photo of a man who has been beaten by a Head-hitting gang……

MAN is suspected to have been assaulted KAM MO. FA defends him in no time. MING says he will tell her who did it, on the condition that she keeps away from MAN. ANN points out that MAN may be kicked out. MAN loves being a police officer and so turns to SING for help. MAN is very nervous while he is waiting for the result. He is grateful that his fellows support him with their signatures. WAH tells TING that he is going to go to Beijing for work. TING tells him in return that she will not file a divorce. WAH is pleased. FA has been avoiding MAN, who asks her how she feels about him. He is upset when she tells him they are only friends. FIONA gives KEN an expensive watch in front of others. Feeling that his pride is hurt, he throws the watch on the floor and breaks it. FIONA leaves in a rage. FIONA vents her grievances to FA. She is taking FA home when they see MING and KAM MO together……

CHEONG looks for the taxi everywhere on a motor. He has arrived in a warehouse. It turns out that the man who has taken ANN away was the man ANN arrested four years ago. Now that he has been released from jail he comes to revenge her. CHEONG comes to save ANN just when the man is about to attack ANN with a knife. CHEONG grabs the chance to show his love for her. MAN is in a rage when he sees SING holding TING at Lok On Kui in his arms. He also accuses SING of ruining his parents’ relationship. MAN finds it hard to believe when WAH tells him how he had left TING and the family for another woman years ago. He is shocked too when WAH tells him TING has angioma. MAN gives vent to his anger during training. What is more, he studies so hard that he even forgets to eat and sleep. All are worried about him. MAN takes to drinking at a bar to forget his sorrows. FA, who has been following him, stops him from drinking anymore……

CHEONG loses his hope on ANN when JIMMY comes to the training school and proposes to her with a song. MAN and KEN have broken many records in the physical training and gives face to Class A. Some loan sharks have come to TING’s place to look for WAH. It turns out that it is his ex-girlfriend who has owned them money, and that he is her guarantor. SUM has been beaten up for his gambling debt. MING promises to repay the debt. The loan sharks have come again and demand TING to repay WAH’s debt. Meanwhile, SING comes to her rescue. TING is very grateful to him. MAN invites FA to a meal but he is given the cold shoulder. The youngsters are celebrating KEUNG’s winning at CHUEN’s coffee shop when MAN is surprised to see LAN act as a fortune teller there. CHEONG is depressed. SING encourages him to express his love for ANN. Although they are living together, anybody can see that TING and WAH are at variance……

MING swears to beat KEUNG when he knows that KEUNG will be his opponent at the kickboxing competition. MING, realizing how much likes designing, shows his support for her to return to Lok On Kui. She promises him that she will not have any connection with MAN. FA shows up at Lok On Kui; TING is overexcited. LAN thinks of her own future when she sees FA working so hard towards her dream. Without herself realizing it, she has come to CHUEN’s Children Dream Coffee Shop. LAN uses tarot cards to forecast the fortune of the customers there. To her own surprise, this has given her a sense of achievement. TING has come across SING and they act as if they were strangers. TING has a sense of loss. KEUNG lacks confidence in the competition and thinks of quitting. SING gives him a good telling-off and it comes like an awakening to him. LING is buying a model for LEUNG with PONG when she sees him going out with another girl. LING cries over this……

TING lets WAH move in and share a room with MAN. MAN is happy that his mum is starting to accept WAH again. The girls bump into LEUNG at a disco. He wants to get back to LING as soon as he sees how attractive she has become. TING and her family go to Ocean Park. MAN worries that something has happened when FA refuses to join them. FIONA asks FOOK to return KEN’s goggles. When he sees KEN, he asks how he is going with FIONA. KEN bumps into FIONA at school and she gives him the cold shoulder. KEUNG is busy preparing for the Hong Kong Selection of the Asian Kickboxing Competition. MAN cheers him on. MAN deliberately tells everybody loudly that his whole family has gone to Ocean Park the other day. SING is a bit jealous to hear this. FA has handed in her resignation to TING; MAN is uneasy. A customer, Mrs. CHAN, thinks highly of FA’s interior design……

Seeing that SING is in a bad mood, KEN invites him to go Yum Cha with him. When they get to the restaurant, FOOK is dissatisfied to see SING. MAN takes FA by force to see a bonesetter; FA is pleased. WAH comes to see MAN and LAI and he can see that TING’s is much friendlier to him. TING also lets him stay for dinner and sleep over night. WAH is overjoyed. LAI wants to study overseas. WAH goes and buys an education fund for her and is astounded to be told that TING has cancer. FIONA falls down. She is sad that KEN does not give her a hand and decides to give up her hope on him. LING’s boyfriend, LEUNG, has turned to another girl. She cries over this. PONG hands over a paper tissue to her, only to be scolded and hit. When he gets home, MING learns that his father, SUM, has been beaten by other pickpockets, and that his grandma, CHING, has twisted her ankle when she worked as an extra……

A customer of TING is looking for an old style doorknob. FA has found one for her; LAN is displeased. LAI comes to know that FA was the one who informed MAN of her selling the mobile. She steals the doorknob and scolds FA for hanging around TING and MAN for her own benefits. MING goes to a kickboxing gym and learns that there will be an Asian kickboxing competition. He is tempted. The two classes are having a physical obstacle race. Class B has lost under the provocation of HO. SING knows that TING is avoiding him. He later learns the reason from LAN. LAN says TING should tell SING the truth if she does not want to lose a good friend. TING asks SING out. They have a heart-to-heart talk and have become good friends again. LAN wrongly accused LAI of stealing money and she leaves home in anger. MAN and FA look for LAI at a karaoke bar but she is not there. FA has twisted her ankle and so MAN piggybacks her home……

FIONA tells KEN off, saying that he should not have left and embarrassed her. KEN retorts that she is too willful and selfish. KEN takes to beer when he gets home. He also tells SING about his childhood. FIONA apologizes to KEN in the class but he neglects her. CHEONG bumps into ANN in the car park. He is a bit displeased when she tells him that she has given up keeping her dog for JIMMY. TING has found among her things a book that SING gave her a long time ago, and comes to know that he has been in love with her secretly. She is at a loss as to how to handle this. The HO family is overjoyed that MING has been released from jail and they decide to celebrate. It is the first day that FA works at TING’s shop. TING finds her performance very satisfactory. FA is worried when she sees MING mingle with some bad guys. When the cadets are practicing using pepper sprayers, FIONA, who is emotional, asks KEN if he loves her……

MAN and KEN are envious that HO has broken seven records. When WONG CHING KIT and SZETO CHEUK are on a patrol practice, they see HO and FONG MAN HON are sneaking out of the school. HO warns KIT to remain silent. CHEUK reports this to the school. HO and HON challenge CHEUK and KIT to a competition. KEN sees KIT weeping. KIT tells him in tears that he is good for nothing. SING asks KEN about the competition. KEN replies that he is helping KIT to regain his self-confidence. KEN encourages KIT with what he has gone through in the US and tells him to face the challenge with bravery. KIT insists on finishing the competition despite his injury. He loses in the end, yet he loses with grace. TAI tells FIONA that her marriage with YUEN will be helpful to both family businesses; FIONA feels helpless. TING is looking for a shop assistant; MAN recommends FA to her……

The cadets are practicing the technique of taking a statement when FIONA asks KEN if he is going out with someone. KEN cannot help but laughing. The rest wonder what has happened to the two. FA is knitting a scarf for YUEN. MAN advises her not to be fooled, only to be told not to be nosy. KEN and his classmates cannot stand the provocation of Class B and have a fight with them. As a result, they have all been punished by SING; MAN is dissatisfied. ANN tells the class there will be patrol training. FIONA is delighted to know that she is patrolling with KEN. SING drives KEN home. KEN has cooked some spring-onion and ginger crabs for dinner and the two get along very well. Meanwhile, CHEONG gets home. He teases that they are like father and son and annoys KEN. MAN sees YUEN dating another girl again and so he asks FA to come over……

KEN and others pay CHUEN and CHI a visit at the coffee shop. CHI’s boyfriend, LOK, demands her to elope with him. He is taking CHI away by force when MAN shows up. MAN and KEN work together in subduing LOK. LOK surrenders at last. MAN and KEN have become friends again since. KEI has been late for school and absent-minded recently. She has fallen behind in her training, too. SING and ANN find this strange. TING invites SING to a concert. To his huge disappointment, it is LAN again when he gets there. On the way he takes LAN home, SING tells her frankly that it is impossible for them to go any further; LAN is very upset. MAN and KEUNG are walking on the street when they see FA and YUEN together. KEUNG has a sense of loss. Later, they see YUEN being with another girl. They disrespect YUEN for going out with two girls at the same time and tell FA about this. FA does not believe what they say, however……

LAI wants to open her heart to MAN but he is so busy studying that he has no time for her. KEUNG requests MAN to ask FA out for him. MAN, however, tells him to give up his hope, saying that he is not good enough for FA. KEUNG falls out with MAN. The youngsters go to CHUEN’s coffee shop to study. FIONA does not show up at the coffee shop. KEN knows that she is avoiding him. Meanwhile, FIONA phones to tell him that FOOK, who works at her place, has been injured. KEN hurries to her house. KEN apologizes to FIONA for his coldness the day she gave him the music box. The two are reconciled with each other. The fortnightly test has finished. MAN claims that he will win the award. The test result has been released. KEUNG has won the Improvement Award, while both MAN and KEN have won the Best Performance Award. MAN teases that the reason why KEUNG has won the Improvement Award is that he has been doing very badly in the past……

SING gives MAN two heavy punches and tells him that the harm he has done to his mother is even more harmful than the punches. This is as if a blot to MAN and he realizes his wrong at last. After the foot-drill training, the cadets take out their childhood photo and have a good chat. Everybody enjoys the chat very much except KEN, who feels bitter instead. SING deliberately put KEN and MAN in the same team in the training, hoping that they can work together as a team in climbing the high stage. However, he is disappointed that the two guys still refuse to put down their egoism but always try to outdo the other. They lose as a result. ANN’s boyfriend has come to the training school to give out wedding invitations. CHEONG did not know until then that he has mistaken ANN. CHEONG sees ANN dating a dentist, whose name is JIMMY, later and feels lost. KEN, FIONA and the other have made some chairs using recycled material……

Classes A and Class B are punished to extend their foot-drill because of MAN. ON CHI HO, captain of Class B, blames MAN. KEN stands out to defend MAN, who, however, is not grateful to him at all. FA is pleased to receive an SMS from YUEN. While FIONA teases her for this, she also tells FA that she likes KEN. LAI has got high marks in the English test. She plans to ask for rewards from TING. Nevertheless, TING is nowhere to be seen when she gets home. So she goes out again with friends. When she learns that LAI is upset, TING buys her a new MP3 cell phone. To her surprise, LAI does not seem to be happy at all. It is KEN’s late mother’s birthday. KEN goes and visits her grave. He is astounded to bump into SING there. FA tells MAN that LAI has sold her cell phone again. MAN finds LAI in a karaoke bar. He gives her a telling-off for going out with bad guys. She, who is furious, leaves without saying a word……

FIONA cannot swim. She feels helpless in the swimming and life-saving trainings. She turns to KEN for assistance after class. LAN realizes that she has left her wallet at home when she is in the supermarket. Luckily, SING is there and he pays for her. LAN believes that it is fate that she and SING should have met. SING has come for dinner. LAI is displeased and goes out. TING plans to pair up LAN and SING as she knows LAN is very fond of him. SING praises KEN in front of everybody for his foot-drill. While MAN is not happy, FIONA is glad. FA and FIONA ask KEUNG why MAN and KEN have fallen out. He tells them that it is because SING shows partiality to KEN. KEUNG also reveals that SING and KEN live together. KEN’s secret has been spread to the whole school. He believes that this is the work of MAN. The misunderstanding between them deepens. FIONA cancels the appointment with YUEN and asks KEN to teach her swim……

MAN has found KEN at last. He accuses him of causing them trouble on purpose. MAN does not know until later that it is in fact the idea of their instructors to test the class’ team spirit. The training continues. MAN has led the team into the wrong route and they get lost. KEN is doubtful about MAN’s ability. The two have a dispute again. Seeing this, SING appoints CHUEN to be the leader of Team A instead. MAN is unhappy. ANN has the flu. She collapses later because of sunstroke. CHEONG holds her in the arms and takes her to the medical room. He also takes her home and cooks her some porridge. ANN finds him very sweet. Team B gets to the campsite first. As FIONA did not bring along the gas, the team cannot light a fire. Team C offers to lend them some. The next morning, FIONA is appointed to be the leader, to which KEI is unhappy. KEI is scared to death when she sees a poisonous snake……

It’s payday. KEN treats FOOK to a meal while FIONA and FA go on a shopping spree. YUEN nearly runs into FA as he is driving. He buys her a lot of clothing as compensation, leaving a good impression on her. SUM’s second-hand commodity has been made a mess of by some guys. MAN and KEUNG help him scare away the guys. SUM recognizes that MAN was the one who led to MING’s imprisonment and so gives chase to him. After knowing that the poor life her classmate TAO SHUK CHING leads, and that she cannot even afford to buy her younger brother and sister chips, FIONA reflects on her luxurious way of living. What’s more, she decides not to use the supplementary credit card that her parents gave her any more. KEUNG has picked KEN’s wallet, which he has lost earlier. He goes with MAN to KEN’s home, where they discover that KEN lives with SING. They therefore are more convinced that SING is taking special care of KEN and they despise KEN even more……

ANN apologizes to SING for mistaking his handling of PONG’s leaving the school. She further asks him how he is going to handle the discontent among his class. SING replies that he is not going to change her teaching method. MAN has found his cell phone at last. He apologizes to FA for blaming her, but she refuses to accept his apology. FIONA worries that she would one day be kicked out like PONG. KEN goes and comforts her. MAN learns that TING is jogging with SING the next morning, so he eggs her on going with TING to get close to SING. Things turn out the opposite, however. ANN bumps into CHEONG while she walking the dog. The two have a war of words. The male cadets are watching a VCD in the barrack when KEN sees SING on his way to come for an inspection. He draws him away with an excuse but his plot fails. The other cadets mistakes that KEN is the informer and give him the cold shoulder……

The cadets have learnt that PONG’s father, KWOK PUI, was SING’s superior. They tease that he has someone there to support him in the back. PONG is unhappy. Both SING and KEN have noticed that PONG has been behaving oddly, yet he denies. MAN has lost his cell phone and suspects that FA has stolen it. MAN follows FA, and sees her, together with FIONA, taking an old lady, who is lost, home. FA has helped the old lady found her grandson, SHEK CHAI. FIONA has left her cell phone there, nevertheless. PONG is performing very badly again at the firing range. SING suggests him taking a rest at home but he insists that he is fine. MAN suggests firing a complaint against SING for putting too much pressure on PONG and asking for a transfer of SING. KEN does not agree with his ideas, ending up being boycotted. SING and ANN give the cadets a pop physical test. PONG collapses during the test and is taken to hospital……

The confrontation between Adrian and Jairo intensifies as they fight for a place in the first team. Meanwhile, Lara, already sidelined from the team and with no prospect of changing clubs, decides to leave the academy.

The situation with Patterson becomes complicated and ends with Lara looking for a future outside of Apolo and asking Tomas to represent her. At the same time, the men's first division team needs a player for the upcoming cup game.

Jairo discovers that Adrian has spent the night with Lara, feels betrayed and cannot control his emotions in training. Patterson gets angry with Belen and the team has to decide who to support: her or the coach.

Willy leaves David on the bench causing his father's anger and giving him the opportunity to leave the team. Adrian and Jairo spend time together and Tomas suspects there is something more between them, Adrian approaches Lara to deny it.

Lara injures Meriem in a training session and an investigation is opened to find out if it was an accident. Adrian feels questioned on and off the field, but Jairo considers him a friend and confesses his attraction to Lara.

Lara applies Patterson's methods and provokes the rejection of her teammates. Meanwhile, Adrian's father signs Jairo, which causes a rupture in the relationship with his son and the distrust of Willy, the coach of the men's team.

Jairo and Adrian are roommates and rivals on the team. Patterson, the coach of the women's team, scolds Belén for skipping practice. Eventually, the team splits in two and damages the friendship between Lara and Meriem.

At the Apolo FC academy, Adrian aspires to become team captain. Complications arise with the arrival of Jairo, a gifted player. Meanwhile, the captaincy of Lara's women's team faces opposition.
