Attending a stabbing at a nightclub, Jordan is found covered in blood, and his girlfriend Kelly is found having been attacked in the bathroom. The victim goes into cardiac arrest at midnight, but survives, and Valentine grows close to the mother. Ryder fears Jordan is protecting Kelly, as she had his knife, but they are both ruled out, leaving CID scratching their heads looking for suspects.
