Four environmental NGOs and the City of Paris sued TotalEnergies, arguing it should be responsible for greenhouse gases from the use of its products, such as vehicle emissions, and partly won in court. Meanwhile, scientists developed a method to quantify companies' responsibility for emissions and climate extremes.
