Penn & Teller: Fool Us

One off 90 minute special airing 7th January 2011 Hosted by Jonathan Ross, where magicians Penn Jillette and Teller give several British magicians the chance to fool them, with a prize of the opportunity to fly to Las Vegas and open for the duo.

FAVORITE MOMENTS & FAVORITE FOOLERS – From the serious to the comedic, see those who amused, and fooled, Penn & Teller – including a mind reading chicken! The special includes behind the scenes footage, special guests, never-before seen tricks a few other surprises.

Penn & Teller prank Chris Hardwick by turning him into an amazing magician as they send him to the streets of Vegas to bedazzle the crowds.

This week, the reigning world card trick champion, Shawn Farquhar, does the impossible right under Penn's nose. Plus Cuba's greatest magician - Manuel Martinez, who now lives in Margate - takes to the stage, and one act performs the most stunning climax to a trick ever seen on TV. Will any of the hopefuls manage to fool Penn and Teller?

In tonight's show, comedy magician Mark Shortland gives Jonathan the fright of his life, French genius Mathieu Bich is stupendously mysterious, double act Young and Strange give stage illusions their own special twist and card shark Daniel Madison shows why the casinos are scared of him. After facing the challengers, Penn and Teller will close the show with a fantastic new trick of their own.

Ross hosts and a number of magicians attempt to fool Penn and Teller with their best trick. If successful they manage to snag for themselves a spot in P&T’s Vegas stage show. Tonight comedy magician Piff the Magic Dragon performs his amazing illusions with the assistance of his trusty Chihuahua sidekick Mr Piffles, Hungarian magician Soma mesmerizes using mobile phones, Alan Hudson performs some musical predictions and street magician Damien O’Brien shows off some unique card tricks. Penn and Teller themselves also make an appearance on stage with some of their trademark incredible routines.

Magicians looking to fool the boys this time: Shawn Farquhar returns to try and fool them again by (mind) reading from a book he gives to Alyson, comedian magician Michael Kent does a trick with (dis)appearing bottles and glass cups, Vegas magician Nathan Burton makes a "security guard" run down a toilet and turns his assistant Stacy into a poster, Nathan Coe Marsh makes an object randomly picked by Alyson appear inside a small glass jar, and finally Penn and Teller teach the audience how to find love through cards, but not everyone gets it.

Magicians looking to fool them this time: sword swallowing magician Brett Loudermilk does a trick that's hard to swallow for Alyson, Dan Harlan does a card guessing trick with his animated stickmen, illusionist Ryan Joyce makes his assistant disappear leaving her silhouette behind, comedian magician Kyle Eschen makes lentil appear out of thin air, and finally - Penn, Teller and Jesse Eisenberg, who promotes his new movie about magic, try to outdo one another at a card guessing trick for Alyson.

Magicians looking to fool them this time: Robert Ramirez gives Alyson a puppy and does a prediction trick while playing tic-tac-toe with Teller, Dominik risks losing his hands along with Penn's watch during a Houdini-esque escape trick, comedian magician Joel Ward plays some tennis with Alyson and makes her ring disappear, Mahdi Gilbert, who had to learn how to do card tricks without using hands, does his own special hands-off trick with the three hosts, and finally, Penn and Teller show us how a trick where Teller plays a disembodied rocket man works.

Season premiere includes an epic performance by sightless card mechanic Richard Turner, the daring Young & Strange duo have a second try at their foolery which includes sticks and poking holes, Kayla Drescher brings a woman's touch and heart to her magic and Mike Super does a small prediction trick in a big way. And finally, the boys teach a card trick to the audience.
