Series synopsis
The Book of Negroes is a Canadian drama television series that premiered on CBC Television on January 7, 2015. It ended on February 11, 2015. It was created by Clement Virgo, Lawrence Hill. It stars Shailyn Pierre-Dixon, Sandra Caldwell, Dwain Murphy and Siyabonga Xaba.
Kidnapped in Africa and subsequently enslaved in South Carolina, Aminata must navigate a revolution in New York, isolation in Nova Scotia and treacherous jungles of Sierra Leone, in an attempt to secure her freedom in the 19th century.
