A making-of experience to discover how a program filmed in the dead of night, within the walls of the Vatican, was created. It took a long, painstaking process, following Alberto Angela through the various set preparations, the filming phases, the preparation of the guests, and the work of all the technicians. St. Peter's Basilica, the Vatican Museums, the necropolis of Santa Rosa, the Apostolic Palace, and the marvelous gardens are just some of the places where the RAI Naples team shared the complexities of filming, tiptoeing among the treasures hidden within the high walls, thanks to the collaboration with the Vatican Television Center.

Behind the scenes of an extraordinary adventure. Captained by Alberto Angela, the director Gabriele Cipollitti leads a real army to conquer Venice. Streets, squares, bridges and mysterious corners and the work of a team of professionals grappling with the joys and sorrows of having to go around Venice at night and deal with high tide and lagoon transport. Alberto Angela takes viewers on an extraordinary visit: it is night, the halls are clear of tourists and curious; the masterpieces of ancient Egypt emerge one after the other and are always admired in all their splendor. He takes us on the trail of the elderly Michelangelo and the young Raphael, also discovering places normally closed to the public such as the Secret Archive, the gendarmerie, the barracks of the Swiss Guards. He tells us a long story of power, spirituality and patronage that has also known dramatic moments.
