Starting From Now

Steph has just landed what appears to be the perfect job. She arrives in Sydney full of hope and expectation, determined that a fresh start is just what she needs. But when Steph falls for Darcy, her friend's girlfriend, life gets complicated.

Even meeting cute office manager Emily isn't enough to distract Steph from her disastrous first day at work. But when she gets home and finds a sympathetic ear in Darcy, the less than perfect start is well and truly forgotten.

An awkward dinner with Kristen and Darcy ends up turning out better than first thought. Things are actually starting to look up for Steph. But just when she thinks her life is back on track, it all starts to fall apart.

Kristen arrives home, oblivious to how Darcy has spent the afternoon. She suggests they throw a party to celebrate Steph's birthday. While careful not to raise Kristen's suspicions, Darcy does everything she can to talk her out of it.

Steph sees the party as a chance to talk to Darcy. But when Kristen sees them alone, she finally realizes what's been going on.

After being out all night, Kristen finally arrives home. Darcy treads carefully as the tension mounts between them.

Steph and Darcy struggle with the reality of their situation while Kristen does whatever she can to numb the pain, inadvertently drawing Emily into her mess along the way.

Steph meets one of Darcy's new workmates. Kristen continues to struggle with her demons, while Emily has her own way of coping with a broken heart.

Darcy reacts to some unexpected news, jeopardising her relationship with Steph.

Darcy returns from her trip overseas determined to reunite with Steph. Having spent much of Darcy's absence questioning their relationship and her unresolved feelings for Emily, Steph is reluctant to forgive Darcy's sudden departure and subsequent lack of communication. Meanwhile, Kristen is becoming adept at juggling her drug addiction and penchant for anonymous sex with her new job in family law.

Darcy reaches out to Steph but Steph tells Darcy she doesn't want her around. Kristen runs into someone she'd rather avoid. A dinner party exposes problems in Emily and Bec's relationship.

Steph asks Emily if they can start over while Darcy turns to Jackie for support. Kristen's new boss, Rachel, hands Kristen her first case - two young children whose mother is trying to reclaim custody.

Darcy is struggling to come to terms with her past but refuses to admit it. Steph's rejection of Emily reopens old wounds and Kristen and Rachel go out on their first date.

Darcy's inability to deal with her past intensifies and she lashes out at Steph. Kristen feels the sting of rejection and a visit from Emily's father prompts her to make a decision about her future.

Steph reaches out to Emily but is met with resistance while Kristen seeks solace in old habits. Darcy feels a renewed sense of hope but can't hold onto it.
