Series synopsis
Queen Divas, also known as 新抱喜相逢 is a drama comedy television series that premiered on TVB Jade on January 20, 2014. It ended on February 7, 2014. It stars Nancy Sit Ka-Yin, Joyce Tang Lai-Ming, Angela Tong Ying-Ying and Evergreen Mak Cheung-Ching.
Born into a noble family, HO SIU-LAN is not only very skillful in household management but also in charge of all events of Lin Enterprise, however trivial, for her husband"s family. Premise
Born into a noble family, HO SIU-LAN is not only very skillful in household management but also in charge of all events of Lin Enterprise, however trivial, for her husband"s family. Her elder son LIN CHI-SUM and second son LIN CHI-KIT have not got married yet, and they maintain low-profile relationships respectively with two actresses from the film and television industry, leaving SIU-LAN with no alternative but to recognize their marriages. Her elder daughter-in-law KWOK FEI-FEI is the tragic drama queen, whereas her second daughter-in-law MAN CHOI-LING is the comedy-drama queen. Competing head-to-head as two outstanding actresses, their battleground expands from the showbiz to the mega-mansion. Their mother-in-law, who usually presents herself as a kind mother and good wife, in fact hides a dagger in her smile. Three divas showcase sparkling acting skills that nearly surpass the Academy Award Best Actress, resulting in tons of jokes. Until SIU-LAN uncovers that someone has embezzled company money, the whole family falls in dire straits. Ever since then, things unknown by the others have been gradually unmasked with laughter and tears interweaving.

Episode 1 KWOK FEI-FEI, a local renowned movie star, recently finds favor with a world-class film director, getting a part to play in a world-class movie. During their contract signing ceremony, all the attending journalists suddenly leave FEI-FEI's press conference after they receive the breaking news that another star MAN CHOI-LING is going to marry the second son of the local tycoon HO SIU-LAN, LIN CHI-KIT. FEI-FEI is totally grieved by how her spotlight has been stolen, so she goes to CHOI-LING's press conference to make trouble. Later on, the two meet up with each other outside the venue, and even talk about their bygones. It turns out that FEI-FEI and CHOI-LING both signed up for the artiste training program offered by the TV station, and became bosom buddies. However on one occasion, CHOI-LING had a chance to become a prime time artiste after getting the attention of a TV producer.… ... |

Episode 2 FEI-FEI’s father KWOK TAK is a fruit stall owner, whereas CHOI-LING’s mother WONG LIN-HING came from the country. Two families even dispute over the fund amount on the fundraising show. CHI-KIT starts dating CHOI-LING, and manages to leave a good impression. With FEI-FEI and CHOI-LING both getting the leading roles in the same movie, FEI-FEI is crowned the best actress although the part she performed had less scenes in the movie than CHOI-LING. In order to turn the tide, CHOI-LING attempts to get a starring contract from a world-class director. Yet again, FEI-FEI beats her, getting the contract instead. CHI-KIT’s mother SIU-LAN has been against her son seeing the movie star, above which she even writes a letter on behalf of his son to break up with CHOI-LING. Until CHI-KIT tells his mother that he will marry CHOI-LING, SIU-LAN decides to deal with CHOI-LING in person.… ... |

Episode 3 Seeing that CHI-KIT is ready to get married, SIU-LAN is eager to find a spouse for her elder son CHI-SUM. Moreover, she even forces CHI-SUM to join the speed dating party without knowing that CHI-SUM is totally not interested in it. In an attempt to marry into the LIN family, FEI-FEI tries to seduce CHI-SUM, who is not tempted at all. CHOI-LING sees through FEI-FEI's trick and taunts her. In order to recover from the situation, FEI-FEI joins forces with the film crew, scheming to get close to CHI-SUM. Finally, she manages to leave a good impression on CHI-SUM. Having learned this, CHOI-LING not only goes to tip SIU-LAN off about it, but also seizes the opportunity to butter her up, claiming that she is capable of dealing with it. CHOI-LING tricks FEI-FEI, making FEI-FEI show her true color in front of CHI-SUM, who storms off in a huff. Later on, CHI-SUM decides to propose marriage to FEI-FEI after he is rescued by the latter.… ... |
