The L Word: Generation Q

Ten years after we last left them, we find Bette running for mayor of Los Angeles; Shane as she returns to the city after a setback; and Alice learning to balance co-parenting with her fiancée Nat and Nat’s ex-wife Gigi and the rising success of her talk show. We meet PR exec Dani Núñez, her girlfriend and TV producer Sophie Suarez, their best friend and roommate Micah Lee, and the charming former Olympic swimmer-turned-assistant, (Sarah) Finley.

Bette weathers continued fallout as she prepares for an LGBTQIA Center talk. Shane helps Finley, while Alice is annoyed when the network forces her to bring on a new staff member. Dani and Sophie celebrate good news as Dani begins a new job. Micah pursues a new crush.

Bette prepares for an important mayoral debate. Alice lands a huge guest and encourages Nat to branch out. Shane visits a bar and gets embroiled in the lives of two of its employees. Dani and Sophie's families clash, Micah is unsure of where he stands with his crush, and a budding relationship forces Finley to confront some complicated aspects of her past.

Bette is forced to navigate some major changes. Shane gets pulled into LA's poker scene as Alice and Nat readjust to couple-hood. Sophie, Dani and Finley all must deal with the fallout of Sophie's decision. Micah navigates his new normal.

Bette takes huge strides at her new job as Shane vies to get Tess on board with a new idea for the bar. Alice suspects Nat is hiding something from her. Meanwhile, Sophie, Dani and Finley are all left to deal with the fallout of a shocking event as Micah grapples with the true nature of his relationship with José.

Bette’s passion is ignited at work while Angie receives some big news that complicates things at home. Shane and Tess’s business venture doesn’t go as planned and Alice resists facing the truth of her situation with Nat. Meanwhile, Finley, Sophie and Dani all struggle to adjust to their new normal as Micah leans on Maribel for support when he starts a new job.

Bette and Tina struggle to reconcile their past and future selves as Angie is dealt a shocking blow on her first day of college. Meanwhile, Shane adjusts to a domestic life with Tess, and Alice questions what she wants in a partner. At the bungalow, Finley returns from rehab and works to pick up the pieces of the life she left behind with Sophie, while Dani and Micah take big swings with Gigi and Maribel.

Bette and Shane break new ground with Tina and Tess, respectively, but old habits come back to bite them. Sparks fly with Alice’s latest prospect until an unexpected revelation, while Angie heals her heartbreak with a new flame. Meanwhile, Finley competes for Maribel's favor until Maribel drops a bomb about Sophie that threatens to tear them apart, and Dani puts hurt feelings aside for Gigi, but is it too late? 

Alice leverages her 100th episode as an opportunity to find “The One” with help from a special appearance from guest host Margaret Cho. Dani cares for Gigi until old wounds drive them apart. Meanwhile, Shane competes for Tess’s attention. Finley and Carrie make big moves, while Angie discovers a troubling revelation about her new flame.
