Zeynep, an eight-year-old minor who is a victim of domestic violence, is taken to The House of Hope by Ali Kaan, who is the director of Mahir Boztepe. The little girl, who broke up with her mother for the first time, has been dreaming innocently that her mother will come and pick her up in a few days, yet she is not aware that the truth is painful enough to shatter her tiny heart.

It's not as easy for little Zeynep to forget her mother as it is to leave. As she strives to get her scent, her dream, out of her heart as promised to Mavi, a letter comes to her rescue that she accidentally reads. Ayşegül's letter to the future girls of a family applying for adoption among the documents she left in the kitchen touches little Zeynep's heart. Time will tell if the change that began with a letter in Zeynep's life will be enough to forget her mother. And just as it's all worked out, the ghosts of the past come out this time to ruin the lives of our most unlikely children.

A dark past explains why the Pölitz Synthetic Fuel Plant in Northern Poland is now a derelict industrial site littered with tunnels, bunkers and huge crumbling concrete structures lost in dense forest. The site was built in 1937 as part of Nazi Germany's drive to become self-sufficient on fuel, but it was no ordinary refinery. It used the latest technology at the time, at great expense, to turn coal into oil. In 1945 an Allied air raid pulverised the plant, severely wounding the German war machine and leaving the site in ruins. Other structures examined in the first episode include the incredible vertical Phoenix Shot Tower in Baltimore, which was built to provide America's own ammunition, the former American spy instillation called Teufelsberg (or "Devil's Mountain") in Berlin which waged the Cold War against the Soviet Union, and the now derelict Rubjerg Knude Lighthouse which was built on Europe's second-fastest moving sand dune in Denmark.
