Gu Yi is a stand-up comedian in Shanghai who juggles a day job and nighttime performances. This leads to an unexpected clash between a woman driven by comedy and a man who never laughs.

She confidently tells her friend Yu Du Le, who also works part-time at Ounce, that she will get the whole crowd laughing that evening.
