Empress Myeongseong, also known as 명성황후 is a South Korean drama television series that premiered on KBS2 on May 9, 2001. It ended on February 5, 2003. It was created by Jung Ha-yeon. It stars Lee Jin-woo, Lee Mi-yeon, Choi Myung-gil and Yoo Dong-geun.
Based on the life of Empress Myeongseong (1851 - 1895), the first official wife of King Gojong, the 26th king of the Joseon dynasty. She was killed on October 8, 1895 by Japanese assassins.
