Premise
Mike and Angelo is a British sci-fi TV sitcom series, that ran on CITV between 16 March 1989 and 7 March 2000. It centres on Angelo, an alien who came from another world during the first series; the portal from his world being that of a wardrobe in one of the bedrooms. He lives with Mike King, and Mike's mother Rita. Later series had Mike and Rita move away, with Rita's nephew Mike Mason staying on in the house with housekeeper Katy. Together, Mike and Angelo get up to all kinds of crazy adventures - all within the vicinity of the house that they live in. Angelo is always inventing something crazy, or walking on the ceiling, or summoning up historical figures from the past. They always wreak havoc together, much to Katy's annoyance, crying "ANGELO!!" in her Scottish accent constantly or Rita in her Canadian accent before her. Their neighbours are the posh Fawkes-Bentleys, in whose house some of the show's scenes are occasionally based.
The 1999 series began with Angelo and Katy reading a postcard explaining that Mike was having a good time in America. In his place, Daphne Fawkes-Bentley's niece Michaela became Angelo's sidekick. For the final series, Katy's nephew, also called Mike, joined. The final series was shown in 2000.
With Mike Mason now living in America with his mum, Angelo and Katy are left alone. However next door, a new girl is staying with her Aunty Daphne Fawks Bently called Mickey. Mickey discovers wacky inventor alien Angelo, in his inventing shed and becomes friends with him. However, Daphne with knowledge of Angelo's personality refuses to let her niece ever talk to Angelo. Katy decides it's best if Angelo makes friends with their neighbour to allow Mickey to come round. Angelo organises a meal at his house with Daphne with Mickey and Katy at the cinema. The night starts of great until Angelo decides they both lay their hands in his Angelo Patent Pending Quick Dry Cement to keep their friendship. However the phone rings and Daphne is stuck with her hands in the cement by which time has hardened. Eventually Angelo free's her but Daphne refuses Mickey even to look at him. Angelo is very excited about a new magical board game he is getting. He opens it and rolls the die landing on 13. Suddenly a night in shining armour appears and demands a fight with Angelo to win the game. Mike gets turned into a small toy and is sucked up by Sammy, Katy's vacumm cleaner. He is eventually found and returned to his original size. The knight is scared off by Katy.
