A Chip Off the Old Block, also known as 巴不得爸爸 is a drama comedy television series that premiered on TVB Jade on November 30, 2009. It ended on December 28, 2009. It was created by Poon Ka-Tak. It stars Nancy Wu Ting-Yan, Sunny Chan Kam-Hung, Myolie Wu Hang-Yee and Ron Ng Cheuk-Hai.

Episode 1 CHOR TSZ is a smart and quick-witted man who responses to change swiftly. He handles public and reporter’s questions tactfully and soon becomes the favorite man of the tobacco boss. However, he doesn’t know how to get along with his father CHOR FAN for he thinks that FAN is too old-fashioned and kind-hearted. Their relationship is worsened when FAN’s foster father KO SHAN CHUEN is sent to the hospital because of an acute disease. FAN delivers takeaway food to his good friend NGAU CHING WING at the police station. WING and SHING SHAP YEE accidentally discover that FAN suffers from dementia. TSZ is shocked. He gives up the chance of meeting the tycoon CHENG KWAN MIN and moves back to home to take care of FAN. Typhoon no 10 is hoisted. TSZ rushes to meet MIN but FAN suddenly feels unwell… Typhoon no 10 is hoisted again. FAN accidentally sees TSZ’s SMS and he misconceives that TSZ is going to meet MIN. TSZ returns home but FAN is not there…… |

Episode 2 At the hospital, CHUEN discovers that TSZ’s ID card is different from him and he believes that TSZ is an illegal immigrant. CHING LAN FUN catches a customer who fails to pay for his food and her mother TAM LAN CHING asks this person to wash the dishes as compensation. While delivering takeaway food, FAN meets a coquettish housemaid and she leaves a deep impression on him. TSZ sneaks away from the hospital and he meets FAN accidentally. TSZ makes up a life story and asks FAN to help him. FAN meets the housemaid again but she has become a secretary. TSZ tries to return to the 21st century through the wardrobe but his plan fails. He reluctantly returns to the street food stall with FAN. TSZ’s living style is very different from all the other tenants and he has conflicts with them all the time. CHUEN is attracted by the new tenant SO FUNG NI who works as a nurse…… |

Episode 3 FAN goes to work in the kitchen of a big house but he accidentally uses the expensive bighead carp as the ingredient for cooking and the chef is very angry. FAN goes to apologize to his boss LAU but he accidentally discovers that NI is there. Sergeant WING accuses TSZ for sexual harassment and FAN arrives to bail him out. TSZ wanders at the street food stalls. He plays tricks on the stall owners so that they all reveal their real faces in the front of everybody. The stall owners are enraged and they chases after TSZ. TSZ discovers that FAN has decided to join the kickboxing contest in order to get the bonus for him… WING goes to the food stalls to collect bribes. TSZ accuses him for committing corruption. WING is enraged and he points his gun towards TSZ… CHUEN tries to give a difficult performance to please NI but NI ignores him. NI is surprised to find that FAN and CHING close their stalls much earlier than normal days…… |
