Hoje é Dia de Maria is a sci-fi & fantasy comedy family drama animation television series that premiered on TV Globo on January 11, 2005. It ended on October 15, 2005. It was created by Luiz Fernando Carvalho. It stars Carolina Oliveira, Letícia Sabatella, Rodrigo Santoro and Osmar Prado.
Maria is an orphan girl who suffers from her stepmother's wickedness. She then decides to escape in search of the fringes of the sea and takes a long walk through Brazilian folk tales. On her journey, she meets several fantastic characters.
