Series synopsis
By train through Poland and Scotland, also known as Mit dem Zug durch Polen und Schottland is a German documentary television series that premiered on NDR Fernsehen on October 6, 2019. It ended on December 8, 2019. It stars Meik Spallek.
The Poles endearingly call their slow train Rybak, which means “der Fischer” (the fisherman) in German. This train takes its passengers right across the north of Poland. Twelve hours from Stettin in the west to Bialystok in the east. The train passes through East Pomerania and dreamy Kashubia, and then skirts the Baltic Sea coast and magical Masuria.

Premise

He takes us on a journey of discovery across the north of Poland - from Stettin in the west always eastwards, in 12 hours to Bialystok. The train crosses Western Pomerania, the dreamy Kashubian country, and touches the wide, wild Baltic Sea coast with its famous tricity by the sea: the seaside resorts of Gdynia - Sopot - Danzig. Then we continue through the magical Masuria with its over 3000 deep blue lakes. We immerse ourselves in the majestic forests of West Prussia. |
