Series synopsis
Checkmate Lawyer, also known as 法廷のドラゴン is a Japanese drama television series that premiered on TV Tokyo on January 17, 2025. It ended on March 7, 2025. It was created by Takahiro Horie, Masashi Todayama. It stars Mone Kamishiraishi, Mahiro Takasugi, Mai Shiraishi and Emi Wakui.
Kotaro Fuda, a young lawyer running his late father's law firm, meets Tatsumi Tendo, a shogi player with the uncanny ability to predict trial outcomes. Despite Tatsumi's lack of legal experience, Kotaro hires her as a trial lawyer, setting the stage for an unconventional partnership.
