Series synopsis
Find the Light, also known as 英雄·刀·少年 is a drama action & adventure television series that premiered on TVB Jade on September 8, 2003. It ended on October 3, 2003. It was created by Wong Wai-Sing. It stars Ron Ng Cheuk-Hai, Bosco Wong Chung-Chak, Maggie Shiu Mei-Kei and Damian Lau Chung-Yan.

Premise
It’s hard to find a true friend, but it is even harder to find a friend who will sacrifice himself. Therefore, the friendship of Wang Wu (Ng Cheuk Hai, Ron) and Tan Si Tong (Wong Chung Chak, Bosco) during the Qing dynasty is still a story with relish. Wu has thought that studying is a very hard work for him. He learns to become down to earth only when his mother, Mrs Wang Yuen Xin Yi (Shiu Mei Ki) sends him to the school of kung fu. At the school, Wu meets Tong, who has come here for escaping from marriage. Tong is very versatile, and Wu is very active. They both admire each other’s talents. Under the coaching of Chen Dao Yang (Lau Chung Yan), their kung fu techniques have improved a lot and they have cultured with a righteous heart. On top of the teacher-student relationship, the three have soon built up a friendship. Tong, who tries to get rid of his wife Li Run (Yeung Yi), meets Princess Chao Lan (Yeung Sze Ki, Shirley) at the school. However, Lan only loves Wu...

Episode 1 WANG WU, who is in his youth, lost his father when he was a child. WU is outright and energetic. His mother, YUEN XIN YI, hopes that he will have a bright future, and so is determined to send him to the school of kung fu at all costs. WU meets kung fu master CHEN DAO YANG. WU admires YANG very much and begs YANG to take him student. However, YANG finds an excuse and drives him away. TAN SI TONG comes from a reputable family. Unlike other youngsters who are also from the rich, TONG is never profligate or arrogant. TONG’s father, KAI SHUN, who is a government official, is both feudal-minded and manipulative. He arranges everything for TONG but pays no attention to how he feels. SHUN forces TONG to marry LI RUN. TONG mistakes that RUN smokes opium and so thinks her not worth his attention. Episode 2 YANG accepts SHUN’s invitation to teach at the school of kung fu. YANG enrolls WU; YI is glad. Manchu student DOR LI MOR, son of a high official, is very arrogant. He enrolls in the school of kung fu, just for the hope of winning LAN’s favor. TAI is very dissatisfied to see SHUN taking Han students. He also looks down upon YANG. TAI appoints his right-hand man, NGOK SHAU MING, to be a coach to keep an eye on YANG. LAN sees by chance YANG’s excellent kung fu technique and falls for him immediately. MOR acts as if he was the student leader at school. He is always finding faults with WU but WU chooses to swallow it all. MING is both honest and loyal; YANG appreciates his personalities a lot. YANG finds it a pity that they have very different political stands. In order to get close to WU, YI finds a job at the kitchen of the school of kung fu. She tries in vain to build good relations with YANG and MING. TONG envies WU’s freedom…… |

Episode 3 TONG is sneaking into the school of kung fu when he meets LAN. LAN beats him up. TONG escapes his wedding, leaving behind a pheasant to finish the ceremony with RUN. RUN forgives TONG and is willing to wait for him. SHUN feels very sorry. TONG recommends himself to the school of kung fu so as to escape his marriage. In order to ruin SHUN’s reputation, TAI makes an exception and enrolls TONG. MOR’s friends LAK and YUEN try to make a fool of TONG but end up eating their own bitter fruit. MOR knows then that TONG is not an ordinary fellow. He wants to curry favor with TONG but TONG ignores him and his fellows. YANG is particularly strict with WU. WU thinks YANG is being partial to him. YI negotiates with YANG but she only makes things worse. TONG and WU get along well with each other and have become friends who can share everything with each other. YANG is cool to LAN, yet she admires him even more…… |
