Series synopsis
Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ, also known as 機動戦士ガンダムZZ is a Japanese animation war & politics action & adventure drama comedy sci-fi & fantasy television series that premiered on HTB on March 1, 1986. It ended on January 31, 1987. It stars Kazuki Yao, Hirotaka Suzuoki, Masami Kikuchi and Naoko Matsui.
The year is Universal Century 0088. Directly after the end of the Gryps War, Haman Karn and her army of Zeon remnants on the asteroid Axis begin their quest of reviving the lost empire of the Zabi's, and proclaim themselves as the Neo-Zeon. With the Earth Federation as hapless as ever, only the Anti-Earth Union Group (AEUG) is able oppose the plans of Neo-Zeon. Premise
The year is Universal Century 0088. Directly after the end of the Gryps War, Haman Karn and her army of Zeon remnants on the asteroid Axis begin their quest of reviving the lost empire of the Zabi's, and proclaim themselves as the Neo-Zeon. With the Earth Federation as hapless as ever, only the Anti-Earth Union Group (AEUG) is able oppose the plans of Neo-Zeon. In need of all the help it can get after being decimated in the previous war and losing many of its key members, the AEUG ship Argama enlists the aid of a young junk collector from the Side 1 colony of Shangri-La named Judau Ashta to pilot its newest mobile suit, the ZZ Gundam.

The Boy from Shangri-La The battle-damaged Argama docks at the run-down Side 1 space colony Shangri-La for repairs and medical attention. Meanwhile, young local junk dealer Judau Ashta comes across a fully intact escape pod in a debris field near the colony, taking it back inside with him. While Judau argues with his friends about whether or not to simply sell the pod, a surviving Titans pilot emerges from it, brandishing a gun and demanding that the boys help him. |
