A video spin-off from 1998 which sees Rob Hawthorne seek revenge against Kurt Benson. The storyline comes to a dramatic conclusion with Rob and Kurt fighting on a boat. Rob rushes at Kurt, however he moves out of the way and Rob falls into the sea, with everyone believing he is dead.

Sarah is hospitalised when a joyride with her friends in Kurt's car goes disastrous. Louise's 17th birthday ends in tears over her cheating boyfriend. Kurt sets his sights on Natasha.

Natasha and Dawn worry about Louise in the aftermath of the break-up. Kurt receives bad news about his car.

Ollie has a terrible day when he loses both his money to Kurt and his girlfriend to Tony. Tickets for the Ragmoor Park concert prove as rare as gold dust, while Natasha tries to console Louise but her stock of sympathy is running low.

The Bensons party while their parents are away, and Ollie has a smashing time, forcing Jambo and Tony to help him out of a predicament. Kurt's friends plot to get him together with Natasha, but the pair themselves remain stubborn, and Natasha resolves to keep her distance in the new year.

Louise decides to treat herself to a new hair-do. Ruth decides to stick around. Kurt is in a quandary about his blue velvet trousers, and Maddie is out for the last laugh at the Video Road Race competition.

Jude goes on the warpath and Cindy resorts to drastic action to prevent her mother bringing the baby home. Mrs. Patrick reels over Jambo's revelation.

Lucy gets to the bottom of what really happened to Rob. Sol is unsettled by Paul's strange behaviour and Kate continues to show an interest in Kurt and Ruth.

A new term begins at the newly merged Hollyoaks Community College. Carol finally lands a date with Finn. Kurt goes out of his way to avoid Kate. Lucy gets her old job back — with revised conditions.

The village is left in shock after Rob's death: Lucy struggles to believe it, Beth is distraught and Zara is furious. Alex worries when Sam and Nikki are discovered under a collapsed brick wall, but is relieved when Nikki is stable and Sam is conscious. Adam discovers Mrs. Morgan's affair, whilst Tony is horrified to learn that Lucy is prime suspect for murdering Rob.

Sol and Jess find themselves in danger when a fire starts at The Dog in the Pond. Laura finds temptation hard to resist at The Loft.

Zoe wakes up in hospital following her stabbing, and the news sends shockwaves through the village. Mike struggles to accept that his daughter was murdered, whilst Charlotte's friends turn against her after discovering her betrayal. Meanwhile, Gilly realises he must tell Steph how he really feels about her before Fernando proposes. but a misunderstanding leaves Cheryl convinced that Gilly wants to marry her.

Gilly's situation is made worse when Cheryl announces their engagment to the rest of the village. When his attempt to end his relationship with Cheryl fails, Gilly hatches a plan to make Cheryl fall out of love with him. Meanwhile, Elliot is stressed as he revises for his final exams. But he soon becomes distracted by Lelia and her new job proposition from artist, Jack Welsh. At the same time, Anita is bored because her friends are away and hopes to spend the day with her sister, and is enraged when Elliot interferes in her plans. And, Amy's struggling to bond with her children, and a concerned Michaela tries to help by getting her a job at Evissa.

Darren feels responsible for Hannah's health problems and visits her in hospital, but he receives hostility from Rhys. Steph advises him to stay away, fearing he will do her more harm than good. When Darren finally gets to see Hannah, he is shocked by what she has to say to him. Meanwhile, Anita is planning a party while Lelia and Ravi are out of the flat, but Theresa is the only one that turns up. Soon enough, a fight breaks out between the two girls, with Ste trying to take control. However, worse is to come when Ravi collapses, and Lelia finds herself torn between her dream job and her siblings.

Jason is taken to a gender disorder clinic by Heidi where he is introduced to Tamara. Seth is shocked when he finds out that Jason has been self-harming and he isn't sure who to tell.

Jason is taken by Carl to meet the headmaster. Eva decides to hand out a letter about Jason to the students. Ricky and Lee learn about Duncan's Wolf Boy stunt. Sinead confronts a stunned Amber about Rob being the father of her baby.

Jason gets ready for school and attempts to face up to the bullies there. Seth ends up getting into a fight with Bart which doesn't help matters.

When a social worker turns up to look into the situation at the Osbornes' following Charlie's disappearance, they soon realise they can't continue to go on the way they have been.However when Ruby blames Esther for not watching Charlie she finds solace at Mitzeee's. Cheryl tries to get Brendan and Seamus to bond over a lunch at the dog, however when Brendan storms out she gives him a ultimatum. And Leanne doesn't remember anything from the night before much to Dennis' dismay.

Things end up becoming even more tense for the Osbornes. Esther manages to find friendship in a trusted source.
