A Doctor in the Family

The Martini family moves to Poggio Fiorito, a residential area on the outskirts of Rome. Lele faces all the problems that the move entails. Luckily, his sister-in-law, Alice, is there to help him. The family's new housekeeper, Cetinka, causes chaos: as soon as she's hired, some money goes missing, and suspicion falls on her. But could this really be true? And are we sure she's from Poland?

Alberto, Lele's only grandchild, runs away from home and takes refuge at the Martini house because his parents are divorcing. Meanwhile, Grandpa Libero, to save money, starts selling musical pillows. Maria's birthday is coming up and she asks her father if she can celebrate alone with her friends. Lele agrees but is reluctant. Around the same time, Maria gets her period, and Rebby is the first to know.

Alice and Giulio, Lele's best friend, are worried because the doctor hasn't dated women in years, so they decide to set him up with a 35-year-old doctor named Irene. Lele's salary isn't enough to cover his family expenses. So his ex-father-in-law finds him a job at a private clinic that performs plastic surgery. Will this be the right fit for him?

Lele is eager to see Alice again after her declaration at the airport, but a letter she sent seems to cast a shadow over the future of their relationship. What will happen? Lele goes to the airport for Alice's arrival, but in his place arrives a woman Alice met in Africa and to whom she gave her ticket. The two lovers still have to wait, but what will happen when the time comes?

Lele decides to give Alice the ring he bought her some time ago, but it seems to have disappeared into thin air. Meanwhile, the relationship between Cettina and Giacinto seems definitively over. It's Lele's birthday, but the whole family pretends to forget about it so they can throw him a party. Meanwhile, the doctor's relationship with Alice is kept secret, but how long will they be able to live in hiding?

Libero wants Lele to marry Alice, but his son doesn't feel ready yet. Er Pasticca, a friend of Alberto's, asks him to deliver some pills, but they end up in Annuccia's hands. Alice has planned a romantic weekend with Lele, but he has to go to a conference in Turin. Among the colleagues will be an old friend of Lele's, of whom Alice is terribly jealous.

Lele leaves for Australia while Alice, who will soon join her husband, is in Brazil. At university, Maria meets Guido, a brilliant doctor who is looking for a place to live and will be hired by the new director of the local health authority. Maria is fascinated by Guido, but the doctor seems completely uninterested in her. Meanwhile, Ciccio, after a prank that nearly ended in tragedy, attempts to escape from Lele in Australia.

Enrica notices the growing connection between Maria and Guido and puts a "flea in Grandpa Libero's ear," who begins to worry. Meanwhile, everyone begins to discover that Alberto hasn't even passed a single university exam. Grandpa Libero doesn't want anything to happen between Guido and Maria and does everything he can to keep them apart. Meanwhile, Alberto is depressed and sleeps in the garage to be alone. It will take his family's help to pull him out of this dark depression.

Cettina sets out to find Giacinto, discovering a bitter truth. Maria, due to a painful experience, no longer wants to take her medical tests. Will Guido be able to convince her otherwise? Nilde is forced to close the restaurant due to a poisoning and notices that Guido is the one signing the complaint. Alberto, improvising a late-night radio show, manages to get a permanent job.

There's a lot of news in the Martini household: Maria and Guido have been engaged for two years, and Guido travels back and forth between Rome and Milan. Ciccio still plays rugby and is engaged to an English girl named Emma and... Grandpa Libero is called to school because Annuccia wrote a decidedly strange essay about family. Maria rents a house for herself and Guido, but discovers that, for now, he's forced to stay in Milan.

Meanwhile, Guido is sad because he has to stay in Milan for another two years and doesn't know how to tell Maria, who is currently interning at the local health authority. On the way to Milan, he has an accident. Maria misses Guido greatly and is considering continuing her studies in Milan, at least until graduation. Guido, meanwhile, is trying every way to get a transfer, but it seems hopeless.

Cettina and Torello's house is now finished, but Cettina is in for some unpleasant surprises. Maria and Guido have decided to move in together, and to keep them from moving far away, Cettina finds an unexpected solution. The family decides to give Guido and Maria a hot tub and a Bohemian crystal chandelier, but the children get angry because they want to furnish the house themselves. The first arguments arise.

Lele has moved to Paris, along with Alice and the twins. Guido is still in Africa with Maria. Meanwhile, Dr. Emilio Villari arrives at the Martini household, in Rome to open a new private clinic. Alberto returns to live with the Martini household, and the family realizes his relationship is over. Cettina continues to be overprotective of her son Eros, to the point of being unable to bear the thought of sending him to kindergarten.

The Martini family meets their new Indian neighbor. After initial hesitation, Ciccio and Annuccia become friends with their grandchildren. Meanwhile, Poggiofiorito is becoming an independent municipality, and it's time for Grandpa Libero to run for office. Grandpa Libero is busy campaigning against lawyer Ulmi, who counts Grandma Enrica among his supporters. The campaign is relentless, culminating in a televised face-to-face.

Grandpa Libero can't stand the commotion outside the Indian restaurant and wants to close it down. All the women are rebelling because they've started attending a yoga class organized by Kabir. Alberto receives a letter from someone who arranges to meet him at the mall, and he thinks it's his ex... Cettina is increasingly drawn to Kabir and confesses to Grandpa Libero that she can't stop thinking about him.

Many returns to Casa Martini: Guido has returned from his experience in Africa, Lele returns with his twins. Cettina and her family are absent: the Martini family's former housekeeper has apparently disappeared in a shipwreck. A nasty surprise awaits Guido and Maria: they discover that their apartment's tenant refuses to return the keys. During a chat, Grandpa Libero reveals to Lele that he's feeling the weight of old age.

With Grandpa Libero gone, Lele is left to care for the entire family. Elena and Bobò are anxious about their first day of school. Annuccia continues to behave rather arrogantly toward her younger siblings. Maria is assigned the case of a little girl hospitalized for stomach pains, likely due to her grandfather's absence, who has gone on a long trip. Maria discovers that the truth is much more painful.

Fanny and Maria become friends, but Maria is jealous because she fears Fanny is courting Guido. She doesn't suspect that her young colleague is interested in another member of her family: her father. Maria's pregnancy progresses, and so do the cravings. Meanwhile, a child neuropsychiatry department will be opened at the clinic, which is precisely the young doctor's specialty.

Three years have passed since Guido's death, and the time has come for Maria to start over, even romantically. Meanwhile, Lele asks Bianca to take the plunge, but he discovers she's still married to her ex-husband. Bianca is determined to divorce him so she can marry Lele, who has since reunited with an old acquaintance, Virginia, while researching a rare disease. Furthermore, Annuccia faces trouble.

Bianca finds herself struggling on two fronts: seeking information about her ex-husband, and jealousy over Virginia, which grows despite Lele's reassurances. Maria receives a tempting job offer. Marco announces on the news that Nonna Enrica's D.O.P. mozzarella from Puglia is made with a different type of milk, not buffalo milk. The war begins!

Lele teaches a lesson on the environment at Annuccia's school and becomes a hit with his daughter's classmates. Meanwhile, Bianca's ex-husband, trying to put a spoke in her wheels, is determined to win over little Inge by any means necessary. A bolt from the blue strikes Bianca: the chocolate shop has been put up for sale. Furious and fearful for the future, she finds herself weighing her ex-husband Gus's offer. Meanwhile, Grandma Enrica plots to bring Maria and Marco closer together.

Grandpa Libero has finally returned to Poggio Fiorito. Immediately, Marco and Maria announce their wedding, which will take place in two weeks. For the occasion, Grandpa has a special surprise in store: he's hiring Al Bano! The offer to buy the Aurora clinic forces Lele to tell the truth about the house they're about to take from him. The Martini family, informed, takes action.

The situation is critical for the Martinis. Really risking losing their house, Grandpa Libero sets out to track down the builder who defrauded them. For Grandpa Libero, losing his home is such a serious threat that it's even affecting his health. After his reluctance to sell used items at the neighborhood flea market, the family convinces him that everything is fine.

Lele finds himself clandestinely treating an old patient. He decides, taking great risk, to begin clandestinely seeing patients who can't afford the clinic's excessive prices. Annuccia begins working part-time as a delivery driver rather than ask her father, Lele, for money for the international class trip. She finds herself in a rough neighborhood when some thugs harass her.

Grandpa Libero and Enrica are also awaiting the arrival of Lorenzo, a surgeon and Libero's nephew. Sara reveals to her brother Marco that she will no longer run competitively. By making up a lie, she covers up the truth: Sara, in fact, also suffers from heart problems. Meanwhile, her wedding gifts are sent back.

It's Elena and Bobò's first day of high school, and both are gripped by their first anxieties and fears. Elena decides to skip school and go to the beach with Tommy, whom she's immediately fallen in love with. Bobò will cover for her. Giada's arrival at the Martini house is like a bolt from the blue. The only one she's spoken to for a while has been Sara, who wants to help in any way she can the girl she rescued on the street.

Sara begins managing the new bar across the street from Casa Martini. On the opening morning, however, a young manager from a chain of aperitif bars, Stefano, shows up and wants to take over the place. Sara is robbed at the bar by two men blackmailing Giada. Lorenzo finds Sara unconscious on the floor and calls an ambulance. At the clinic, the young woman wakes up and learns from Lorenzo that she should have a CT scan.

While the entire Martini family is on vacation in Puglia, a mysterious man leaves an envelope addressed to Elena, Lele's late first wife, in the mailbox of the Poggio Fiorito villa. Valerio, Elena's former piano teacher, under the pretext of a rap concert, tries to get to know Anna and seems overly interested in the affairs of the Martini household. Meanwhile, Sara, without consulting Lorenzo, signs the preliminary agreement for the purchase of a villa.

Lorenzo learns that the tendon in his hand is damaged and blames Sara for the incident. Mortified, Sara decides to take a walk on the beach. There, by chance, she stumbles upon a party where, over beers, she meets Andrea. Completely drunk, the two end up in bed together. Sara and Enrica decide to track down Dr. Williams, who could operate on Lorenzo's hand, but the doctor is on vacation and refuses to work. The doctor's plans include to tour Rome in a carriage, but a strike prevents him. So Sara and Enrica decide to "steal" one and take him on a tour of Rome. To thank them, Dr. Williams agrees to operate on Lorenzo. Oscar's daughter Agnese returns to her father in the city, but he is busy and can't get to the station, so Tommy goes instead. Libero finds a letter in which Maddalena writes to a certain Francesco and, unaware that he is the Pope, believes that she is in love with the gardener of the parish she attends.

Maddalena is summoned to the Vatican for a private audience with Pope Francis, but Elena and Bobò are behind the summons letter. Anna, meanwhile, continues preparing for the medical school entrance exams, but her encounters with Valerio and Geko become increasingly frequent. Anna, accompanied by her grandparents and the Martini family's lucky teddy bear, takes the medical school entrance exam. Meanwhile, Lorenzo decides to admit Celeste, a young resident, to the operating room, but she panics and runs away.
