Red Terror of Tombstone July 8, 1882 - R.C. (Pop) Tuttle married Grace, a much younger woman, in Tombstone but encouraged everyone to move to Benson. Pop Tuttle wants Benson to be the county seat because, unlike Tombstone, they have plenty of water. Meanwhile, some of the citizens of Tombstone realize they must raise money to purchase a steam pump because a year earlier, in 1881, a fire almost wiped out all of Tombstone. Then in July, 1882, Tombstone does suffer its second worst fire. |
