Former cast members from the series, including John Forsythe, Joan Collins, and Linda Evans, as well as the four original actors who played the Carrington children (Pamela Sue Martin, Al Corley, Gordon Thomson, and Catherine Oxenberg) reuniting at Filoli mansion. The cast reminisced about their time filming Dynasty together in this special, which was filmed at the Filoli mansion used for exterior locations in the series.

When Blake chooses Cristal over his own daughter, Fallon sidles up to Blake's biggest rival, Jeff Colby, to seek her revenge. Meanwhile, when Cristal's nephew Sammy Jo comes to town, her carefully concealed history could bring her future crashing down - and who knows who else she might take down with her.

The spotlight falls on the Carringtons when it’s discovered that Matthew’s death may have involved foul play. The family members are then forced to swallow their own suspicions of each other and close rank to defend the clan. Meanwhile, Cristal struggles with what it means to be a Carrington; and Fallon begrudgingly helps cover up Cristal’s affair to protect the family name.

In a throwback to the '80s, when "greed was good," the Carringtons don their best costumes for their Charity Gala. Fallon fights her father Blake for the right to use the family name in her new business venture. When Cristal learns her sister is in danger, she's forced to choose between her old family and her new one.

After the fatal fire, the Carringtons rise to redefine themselves after a major personal loss.

While Blake focuses on his own selfish endeavors, Fallon goes to desperate measures to sell Carrington Atlantic to the Van Kirks. Sam and Alexis are determined to validate their suspicions about Melissa. Meanwhile, Anders’ daughter Kirby befriends the Colbys in order to seek revenge on Fallon to make her pay for the past.

Fallon gets in over her head and needs Liam and Culhane’s help. Kirby makes a shocking discovery that changes everything, while Blake wines and dines a new guest.

Carrington Manor is decorated to the hilt as only the Carringtons can but all is not well at the Manor.

Fallon is ready to jump head-first into her former life, much to Liam's worry. Amanda discovers something that could help Alexis' case and recruits Kirby for assistance. Meanwhile, Culhane creates a plan for his future as Kirby and Sam decide to help, much to his chagrin. As Jeff figures out his next steps, Fallon turns to Dominique to help with a work situation. Blake throws the Carrington Gala and not all goes as expected.

Those surviving the carnage of the bloody wedding massacre are separated and held at the palace in Moldavia to await an uncertain fate. The revolutionaries, Yuri and Warnick, have seized power and announce that King Galen is dead. Krystle, however, imprisoned in a dank dungeon along with Alexis, has seen him alive. The women are told they will not be released without meeting the terrorists' demands. In New York City, Sammy Jo reveals her plan: Rita is to impersonate Krystle in order to have her aunt removed as executrix of her father's will. While reading the newspaper, Fallon, suffering from amnesia, spots a picture of Miles Colby and is unsure why she is drawn to the name.

Blake pays $5 million for the release of Krystle and Alexis, and the families return to Denver from Moldavia. Steven delivers a moving eulogy at Luke's funeral. Claudia comforts him and incurs Adam's wrath. Rita's boyfriend Joel, a wheeler-dealer film director, is enthusiastic about Sammy Jo's impersonation plot--and the money to be made. Dominique is stunned to find Alexis is no longer interested in fighting over the Sumatra Timberlands sale. She's preoccupied with worries about Galen in Moldavia. Krystle finds Sammy Jo redecorating Delta Rho Farms and demanding Krystle release more money from her trust. Michael rebuffs Blake's offer to help him begin life anew in Denver. Fallon tells Miles Colby she is suffering from amnesia.

After a twenty-year absence, Blake receives a visit from Jason Colby. Jason proposes the two tycoons build a joint pipeline. Although reluctant to do business with Colby because of his past shady dealings, Blake needs Jason's tankers to move his oil out of China. Jason confides to his sister Constance that he is dying. Jeff is surprised to hear from his aunt Constance, who insists it is urgent he come to California. Psychic Justin Dehner helps in the search for Fallon, who remains in California with Miles. Dex is furious with Alexis's growing obsession with Galen. Michael shuts Amanda out of his life. Gordon Barrett, assistant undersecretary of state, questions Blake about the revolution in Moldavia. In New York, Joel and Sammy Jo convince Rita to undergo plastic surgery to complete her transformation into Krystle's double.

Moments from death under Blake's powerful grip, Alexis' life is spared as Krystle is able to restrain Blake's lethal temper, but not before he vows to regain the Carrington mansion. As searing flames ravage La Mirage, Amanda is rescued from the suffocating smoke by Michael Culhane, a nemesis from the Carrington's past. Phil Thorpe accuses Blake of being responsible for the death of his wife, a victim of the fire. A news crew is quick to tape the bereaved man's inflammatory remarks. The La Mirage blaze claims the life of Claudia. Ben receives a mysterious call from a female acquaintance. Unwilling to share in her mother's ""triumph"", Amanda flees to live with Blake. Upon seeing news clips of the La Mirage fire, Alexis begins to form an unscrupulous scheme, and Blake is the unwitting prey. An incensed Blake discovers the morning headlines, which accuse him of murder and arson. He rushes to the Denver Mirror only to find Alexis as the new publisher. She presents him with an ultimatum: leave Denver or face relentless persecution from her paper. Michael Culhane, the Carrington's blackmailing chauffeur from the past, persuades a reluctant Blake to reacquire his services. Steven offers Adam his hand in friendship to work together for their father, but Adam's true loyalties lie with Alexis and Colbyco. An unsuspecting Blake is stalked by Phil Thorpe. Sammy Jo and Clay Fallmont's romance strengthens. Alexis buys up enough stock to control Denver-Carrington, forcing Blake to relinquish his office, but not his determination to regain his company. Phil Thorpe exacts his revenge by forcing Blake's limousine off the road. From the mangled wreckage, Blake is able to drag himself free and unharmed, only to find Krystle, bloodied and unconscious.

Krystle lays unconscious in her hospital room, a victim of Phil Thorpe's crusade for revenge. Blake attributes the attempted murder to Alexis and vows to kill her if Krystle fails to pull through. Despite their lustful romance, Clay informs Sammy Jo he is not ready for a commitment. As Krystle makes a speedy recovery, Dominique, in a selfless display of trust, offers Blake a 50 million dollar loan to free him from Alexis' crushing debt. Alexis threatens the Assistant D.A. with her power of the press if he doesn't prosecute Blake. Phill Thorpe gains access to Krystle's suite and threatens her with murder in retribution against Blake, but her composure and compassion persuades him to give up his maniacal scheme. Threatened by Alexis' power, the D.A. determines the La Mirage fire as arson and Blake as the prime suspect.

Still held captive by the deranged Matthew Blaisdel, Blake and his family wait helplessly as Blaisdel's obsession for Krystle grows dangerously stronger. Witnessing Alexis' car plunge into the river, a handsome and mysterious stranger rescues her from the rushing current. Unaware of the tragedies that face their family, Adam and Dana are on their private jet, en route to their honeymoon paradise. Alone in her bedroom, Blaisdel takes Krystle and reminds her of their past love .for each other, promising things will be that way once again. Fallon's car is found abandoned in the desert. Dex is rushed to the hospital while a search party scrambles to locate the missing Carringtons, who are being held captive in a bunkhouse. Fear of the deranged Matthew forces Krystle to pretend that she still has feelings for him. Fallon's extraterrestrial experience in the desert confounds Jeff. Adam's plans to have a child surprise Dana on their honeymoon. Steven stabs Matthew in self-defense and the family's ordeal is over.

The incident in the bunkhouse leaves Steven emotionally scarred. The police urge him to seek psychiatric help to deal with the trauma. Jeff and Fallon's unexpected homecoming helps everyone to put the tragedy behind them. Adam is suspicious when Dana keeps changing the subject when it comes to having children. Alexis hires Morgan Hess to find the man who rescued her. Fallon confesses her experience to Jeff, but he doesn't know how to handle it. Blake emerges as a candidate in Colorado's gubernatorial race.

Recovering from Sean's attempted murder on her life and his subsequent death, Alexis and Dex flee to Los Angeles. There, they regain the passion they once had. Finding smashed pictures of a smiling Krystle, he calls her doctor, fearing Krystle's mental illness may be developing. Adam withdraws into a drunken stupor, alienating his family and Dana.
