Series synopsis
Legal Entanglement, also known as 法網伊人 is a drama television series that premiered on TVB Jade on February 18, 2002. It ended on March 19, 2002. It was created by Long-Cheung Tam. It stars Hacken Lee, Kenix Kwok Ho-Ying, Michael Tse Tin-Wah and Elaine Ng Yee-Lei.
Sammi Shum (Kenix Kwok) quits her studies and marries a tycoon's son, Raymond Lam (Lee Wai-kei), despite her father's (Chor Yuen) objection. At first, she feels like a princess living in a fairy tale, until she discovers her husband is having an affair. She wakes up from her dream and finds that the reality is that she is suffering from post-natal depression She loses the custody of her son, QQ, after divorcing her husband. Premise
Sammi Shum (Kenix Kwok) quits her studies and marries a tycoon's son, Raymond Lam (Lee Wai-kei), despite her father's (Chor Yuen) objection. At first, she feels like a princess living in a fairy tale, until she discovers her husband is having an affair. She wakes up from her dream and finds that the reality is that she is suffering from post-natal depression She loses the custody of her son, QQ, after divorcing her husband. Luckily, her friend Yip Heung-fai (Stephen Au) finds her an assistant job in a law firm. She works hard and resumes her unfinished law degree hoping that she will get her son back.
When everything settles down, she meets Mark Ko (Hacken Lee) who represented her husband for her son's case and is now her boss. He does not remember her. She is aggressive towards him and that confuses him. Eventually, they understand each other more and love sparks between them. Meanwhile, her son reappears.

Episode 1 YEE discovers her husband is having an affair when she is nine months pregnant. Her marriage breaks up in despair. Five years passed, YEE is working as an assistant in L.C. solicitor firm now. She shares an apartment with a journalist named TOBY. YEE is representing an artist named DICK in a legal prosecution against Milky Two cosmetic company. Though she finds new evidence for DICK, but lawyer, CHAN SAU LING decides to use the evidence to claim for higher compensation from the cosmetic company instead. YEE is dissatisfactory with the tactic of LING. YEE takes up another case with lawyer, YEUNG MING. They represent TING KUE to claim for the alimony from her ex-husband, SIK LI TIN. However, TIN transfers his wealth into charity fund in order to escape from paying the alimony to KUE. Although the possibility of winning the case is small, YEE still has faith in justice. Episode 2 YEE finds her new neighbour, SO KIM FUNG, is suspicious. Later, she discovers that FUNG was once paid by a doctor named WING LAM JO to bear a baby for him. However, FUNG breaks the agreement with JO after the child is born. She keeps hiding away in order to stay with her baby. YEE is touched by her story and recommends solicitor to FUNG. Coincidentally, LONG is appointed by JO for the appeal. Therefore, YEE has to seek for the assistance of another famous barrister, KWAN CHUN TING. LONG makes his clothes dirty, whilst he is drinking with AMY in the pub. They go back to the office for the change of clothes and meet YEE accidentally. The next day, rumours about the immoral behaviour of LONG is widely spread in the office. And, it is obvious for LONG to misunderstand that the rumour is spread by YEE in the first place. Nevertheless, LONG looks more solemn when he realises that TING is representing FUNG for the case…… |

Episode 3 In order to avoid embarrassment, LING recommends MING to defence for DICK. Apart, at the court, LONG quotes the background of FUNG and accuses her inability to raise the child. Since FUNG is working in a nightclub and has drug problem once, LONG finds easy to target her weakness. However, the defence of TING overrules his accusations. Whilst, TING tends to provoke the jealous of LIN and makes her emotionally out of control. Actually, LIN is unable to accept her husband betrays the marriage and has an affair with another woman. Though LIN pretends to be a good mother, YEE realises her hypocrisy and hatred lying in her heart. On the other hand, AMY discovers that LONG is still attached to his ex-girlfriend, AU WING ZHI. She runs away with anger and despair. LONG’s mother, CHEUNG LAI FONG realises the situation and suggests LONG to develop a new relationship and let go of the past, especially, ZHI…… |
