Series synopsis
Net Deception, also known as 追魂交易 is a drama television series that premiered on TVB Jade on April 5, 2004. It ended on April 30, 2004. It was created by Kwan Wing Chung. It stars Wong Hei, Eddie Kwan Lai-Kit, Myolie Wu Hang-Yee and Jack Wu.
Rao Chengtian (played by Wang Xi) is a genius computer crime expert who likes to challenge crime. Recently, Senior Inspector Zhuang Zhanpeng (Guan Lijie) of the Commercial Crimes Division of the Hong Kong Police has spotted him and vowed to convict him. Once, Zhan Peng arranged everything for committing a crime, and thought that he would be able to catch him in a seamless manner. Premise
Rao Chengtian (played by Wang Xi) is a genius computer crime expert who likes to challenge crime. Recently, Senior Inspector Zhuang Zhanpeng (Guan Lijie) of the Commercial Crimes Division of the Hong Kong Police has spotted him and vowed to convict him. Once, Zhan Peng arranged everything for committing a crime, and thought that he would be able to catch him in a seamless manner. Unexpectedly, there was an accidental shooting case, and all efforts were in vain. Zhan Peng was even more unconvinced. On the other hand, Jia Ming, a police academy graduate, met the courier Jianer (played by Myolie Wu), and Jianer is Chengtian’s half-sister, but they still don’t know. Later, Jia Ming was found when he kindly helped his classmates enter the police school database to falsify their grades and was dismissed.

Episode 1 Senior Inspector CHONG CHIN PANG from the Commercial Crime Bureau has been keeping a close eye on computer hacker YIU SHING TIN, but he is frustrated by the lack of evidence to convict him. Police cadet TONG KA MING demonstrates his mastery of target shooting in operations simulation but PANG deducts all his marks due to his lack of judgment. MING has had a misunderstanding with KONG KIN YEE, staff of an express carrier, but puts old grudges behind and delivers the document she has left in his father’s computer software company to the addressee. Seeing a family photo, YEE suspects that TIN is her fraternal half-brother. PANG has hatched a plan to lure TIN to strike again. Just the long arm of justice is about to reach TIN, a murder committed by an armed robber turns PANG’s scheme into futility. PANG’s girlfriend LEUNG YEE YAN has become a vegetable after a car accident. The faulty driver was none other than TIN…… |

Episode 2 MING agrees to take up PANG’s task. He attends an interview at TIN’s cyber cafe and assumes work there together with YEE, who plans to get close to TIN. YEE helps TIN solve a riddle posed by his grandparents and receives a pay rise. The boss’ favoritism shown to the new staff incurs the displeasure of the manager BAO SHUK YIN. YEE’s creative takeaways earn the boss’ appreciation; is given permission to set up a consignment corner inside the cafe. YIN’s vandalism backfires. MING’s affectionate attitude stirs up love in YEE. The young woman is teased by her mother KONG FUNG LAN. LAN runs a beauty salon with her friend TONG YUET MUI. Her client MRS HO has fallen victim to a swindler and loses a fortune. With the swindler now arrested, MUI accompanies her to the police station for the identification parade. HON YEE LEUNG, a gang kingpin, approaches TIN and seeks his collaboration. TIN remains cautious and won’t let his guard down…… |

Episode 3 TIN again encounters SIN YEE at a bar. SISTER CHAN, who works as a cleaner at the cyber cafe, is cheated of her life savings. MING senses TIN’s moves but fails to gather evidences of his crimes. TIN’s grandparents YIU HON and CHENG KIU drop by at the cafe and compel YEE to keep them company. YEE also seizes the chance to find out more about TIN’s father. TIN tries to console SIN YEE for the setbacks she encounters at work, but she is unappreciative. TIN takes her to speed the highway. MING is eager to impress TIN but his views are rebutted by TIN, who jokingly asks him to become an art critic instead. Undaunted by TIN’s rebuttal, MING asks PANG to coach him on art criticism, especially on famous paintings. SIN YEE tries to seduce TIN but leaves at the sight of the movie tickets which date back to their first meeting. TIN questions YEE’s motive in approaching the elders and sends her away with money. YEE is humiliated by his gesture…… |
