Series synopsis
Into Thin Air, also known as 人間蒸發 is a drama television series that premiered on TVB Jade on September 26, 2005. It ended on October 21, 2005. It stars Kenneth Ma Kwok-Ming, Power Chan Kwok-Pong, Michael Miu Kiu-Wai and Bernice Liu Bik-Yee.
Ko Chung Ching (Michael Miu), an ex-policeman, quit his job to set up a private investigation company two years ago, right after his son Tsun Sing went missing because of a slap while Miu was searching for the "Rose Killer". Premise
Ko Chung Ching (Michael Miu), an ex-policeman, quit his job to set up a private investigation company two years ago, right after his son Tsun Sing went missing because of a slap while Miu was searching for the "Rose Killer". His subordinates include Man Kai Ching Super (Power Chan), Man Tai Po (Bernice Liu) and Lam Yan Yan (Vivien Yeo).Kenneth Ma plays the cop who takes on Miu's "Rose Killer" case. Ching works and carries on looking for Sing. He meets Lai Siu (Melissa Ng) the manager of a group of part-time actors. She learns by chance that she was involved in Sing's disappearance, and as such feels guilty, so agrees to help find Sing. She uncovers a few clues and finds out Sing's disappearance is connected to Sing's divorced wife and good friend Lau Kwok Wai (Wong Chi Yin). Ching is shocked by the truth...

Episode 1 Constable, KO CHUNG CHING, receives information that the serial killer, nickname “Rose Killer” frequently haunts a certain building. When CHING takes his colleagues to follow the case, he meets his son, KO TSUN SING, on the way. SING asks his father to play the game of ‘police-and-thief’ with him; CHING scolds him in anger because he is on official business to make arrest; the ‘Rose Killer’ is alerted as a result and he escapes. When CHING returns home and he tries to celebrate SING’s birthday, his son is nowhere to be found. It seems that his son evaporates into the thin air. Two years later, CHING divorces his wife, HO YEE MAN; he also leaves the Police Department and sets up a private detective office. MAN TAI PO and LAM YAN YAN, the subordinates of CHING, disguise as massage girls; they successfully obtain the criminal evidence against the targeted person. Episode 2 After knowing that SIU has seen SING on the day of his missing, CHING hurries to look for her to dig out more information. Unexpectedly TSAU uses a child actor to play the role of SING; CHING is disappointed and leaves. Out of mistake, TSAU drops the pair of sport shoes in the street; the sport shoes that CHING bought and intended to give SING as birthday gift two years ago. KWOK CHING, the grandpa of YAN, comes to the detective office for seeking help, hoping that the detective office can locate his missing sport shoes that he lost 25 years ago. Actually, KWOK CHING was “Golden Right Leg” of one of the Hong Kong football teams in those days. Ever since he lost the pair of lucky sport shoes, he became unlucky and discouraged in his football life. Episode 3 SIU tells CHING in details about the scenario in which she met SING on that day of his missing; she also takes CHING to the place where she met SING two years ago. At that time, CHING suddenly recalls that SING saw him being reprimanded by his superior, YEUNG KWONG; SING might have mistaken that CHING would get dismissed from the job because of SING’s playful behavior to ask his father to play ‘police-and-thief’. As a result, SING was so scared that he did not return home; CHING blames himself. SIU acts in the bathing scene to replace a movie star, Ann; SIU meets Joey, who she has once seen before and who is an expert in drawing sketches.
