EpisodeTime API v1

Languages

Request stored localized TV display fields without changing canonical EpisodeTime identity.

Query parameter (preferred)

https://episodetime.com/api/v1/shows/290?language=es-ES

HTTP preference

Accept-Language: es-ES,es;q=0.9,en;q=0.8
  • The language query parameter takes precedence over Accept-Language.
  • Omitting both preserves backward-compatible English behavior.
  • Titles, overviews and taglines resolve field by field from stored EpisodeTime translations.
  • Missing translated fields fall back to canonical English/original content instead of becoming blank.
  • EpisodeTime IDs, external IDs, dates, numbering, relationships and timezone calculations never change with language.
  • Provider translation imports run separately; normal API reads do not call TMDB or TVmaze.
