Second couple Sarah and Dan have a special treat in store for their guests that nobody expects. Retired estates manager Edward and his teacher wife Carol are accustomed to hosting dinner parties, so aren't concerned about the competition. With rapping, mono-brows, secret revelations, not to mention some fine food, the competition is wide open with the grand up for grabs.

In Manchester, former soldier Carl and his German wife Anja cook up a meal inspired by Anja's homeland. Day two sees Sangeeta and Sreekanth offer an Indian feast. The food is a hit and there's a Bollywood dance-off to end the evening. Finally it's the turn of actors Leroy and Hayley to serve up a Caribbean menu full of spice and taste, but there's a mixed reception from the guests. Will it be enough to bag the grand?

In Northampton, dining duo fitness instructor Pam and her boyfriend Glenn kick off the competition with a Spanish fiesta. The food gets a good grilling from their guests, Victoria and boyfriend Delroy, and Wendy and her husband Mark. Day two sees Victoria and Delroy opting for a Caribbean menu. Finally it's the turn of Wendy and Mark to host and things don't go quite to plan. But in the end which couple will be going home with the prize?

Husband and wife of 29 years Dave and Pam kick off the competition in Gloucestershire with a farmhouse menu. Day two sees music company owners Alettia and Stuart cook up a meal with a Mexican twist. Finally it's Jake and Helen's turn to host with their Japanese menu. Round the table Jake is pressured to propose to Helen and to top things off there is a bizarre breakdancing demo. While the guests are entertained, the food is a let-down, leaving the competition wide open for the prize.

In the west of Scotland, married couple Gavin and Johanna start things off with a loosely Italian themed menu. Day two sees Sharyn and David's main course of beef stroganoff failing to live up to its billing. Finally Daljit and Gordon get their turn to impress with their Scottish and Indian fusion menu; but a disaster in the kitchen leaves them high and dry on dessert. Will it ruin their chances of scooping the prize?

Former tour rep Janine and her singing salesman husband Steve begin the competition in West Yorkshire with a German themed menu. They are joined by Michaela and her husband, former pro boxer Denzil, and dinner party newbies Chloe and her fiancé Adam. Day two sees Chloe and Adam host their first ever dinner party and they're dreading Denzil's honest feedback. The final day is Denzil and Michaela's chance to show off their skills. Can they pull it off and bag that grand? Or are they all talk and no action?

In Manchester, drama producers Henry and Tom are first to host with a traditional British menu featuring two different lamb dishes. However, guest Asia from Poland doesn't like lamb at all while Iranian-born fiancé Shahab can't get enough of it. Things don't improve for Asia as the second dinner party hosted by design-loving Vinnie and Tanz sees three types of lamb! The final day sees Shahab and Asia trying to impress their foodie guests with a globally-inspired menu that divides opinion, and a doomed attempt at some very amateur magic tricks.

First hosts in Essex are complaints investigator Callum and his wife Alison, who have put together a fun filled menu, despite Callum's not so cheery nature. The second day sees Mike and Carol host. There's shock round the table as Carol shares an unexpected story about a fiery feud and there's an outburst over the Essex dialect during dessert. Tony and Coni are last to host with a rustic, hearty theme with three large pies being served for the main. Who will walk away with the grand?

In Bedfordshire, Tom and his wife Naomi kick things off with a menu which, like them, is a bit posh, but the food fails to leave an impression. Day two sees Victoria and boyfriend Elliot cook up a massive Caribbean feast featuring a controversial goat curry. On the final night magician Neil and fiancé Charlie plan to wow their guests with a mysterious menu and magical entertainment. Charlie recounts Neil's unconventional marriage proposal, which leaves the guests gagging and the winner is revealed.

In East Lancashire, young entrepreneur Ellie and her drama teacher partner Andy kick off the competition with an oriental themed menu. Day two sees stylish couple Jon and his partner Chris lay on a Mediterranean menu with influence from their mothers. Finally Gladys and her hubby Stephen are able to show off their passion for travel with a global menu, but there's a surprise in store for their guests when Stephen makes a revelation about his wife.

Loud and proud duo Fay and Wayne kick things off in the Midlands with their comfy country cuisine featuring a beef Wellington main course, and already the competition is on for ditzy couple Sam and Tony who'll be serving the same dish. Day two sees retired lovebirds Rob and Maz hosting with their take on nouveau cuisine. Finally it's Sam and Tony's turn to go all out to dazzle with a glitz and glamour themed soirée, but will it be enough to pocket them the cash?

In Glasgow, confectioner Carly, aka Charlie, and her fiancé bank manager Michael head the competition with their passion for positivity and sweet themed menu. The second day sees Ang and Tom host and while their food does exceed expectations, it's not enough to win over Miss 'High Standards' Irene. Day three and the pressure is on for Irene and Davey to impress with their Scottish fine dining. The evening starts off smoothly, and the guests discover that Davey is a laird, but just as the evening comes to a close, Davey decides to make a confession, which leaves Irene and the rest of the guests gobsmacked.

In this episode from the West Midlands, image-conscious couple Sarah and Jack kick off the competition with a clean-living menu. The food is a little too healthy and gets mixed reviews especially from foodies Liz and Martin and ladette Sonya and her boyfriend Carl. However the entertainment breaks the ice as they all let loose at the silent disco. Day two sees married couple Liz and Martin cook an Italian feast inspired by recipes from Liz's Italian mother. They cook everything from scratch and their food goes down a treat. Finally Carl and Sonya get the chance to impress with their pub-inspired menu. And there's a huge surprise for the guests.

In Cheltenham, perfectionist Michelle and her husband, Bryan Adams tribute singer Russell, are the first to host. As the night develops, so does a budding bromance. Day two is Lydia and Calum's turn to host and they hope a rustic theme will bag them the grand. While the food doesn't seem to quite hit the mark, Calum's impromptu am dram performances do. Finally it's Jane and Paul's chance to shine, and they opt for a menu celebrating Jane's favourite things, to mixed reviews from their guests.

In West Yorkshire, looks are everything to glamorous couple Katie and Neil who kick off the competition with a meal almost as beautifully presented as they are. Night two sees youngest couple Jess and Matt hoping to defy expectations. Mini pasties are followed by a massive chunk of beef for the main before former rocker Matt leads the table in some collective head-banging. With everything to play for, the final hosts, Arpad and Carol, hope to win with some comforting food. With Arpad tickling everyone's funny bones, and a surprise 70s boogie thrown in, the mood is good, but will that be enough to win the prize?

Finally, it's the turn of drama teacher Helen, and saleswoman by day, singer by night, Victoria, to show the competition how it's really done. Once the reviews are in, who will claim that thousand pound prize?

In Birmingham, married couple Veda and Varun kick off the competition with a Bollywood bash and an Indian-themed menu. Dave, and his retired wife Su, love the food but Su's thumb over Dave doesn't go unnoticed. For engaged pair Rachel and Anna, the food isn't up to scratch. Rachel and Anna aim to impress with their home-cooked favourites on night two. The men in the group feel outnumbered when the women go on the offensive on the subject of present giving. The last night sees Su and Dave throw a mad hatter-style tea party with costumes to suit. Rachel and Anna aren't impressed and believe more effort should have gone into the food, but when the group secretly find another dessert to eat, what will Su say? Will it ruin their chances of winning the grand?

In west London, Daniela and Stuart kick off by serving up an Italian spread at their first ever dinner party, but hard-to-please Manisha, with hubby Akshay in tow, doesn't mince her words. It's young duo Josh and Georgie's turn to host on day two and they plan a night of high quality food with a party atmosphere. After a very exclusive first course starts the night off well, they turn on the style with a private party bus and even mild-mannered Akshay is throwing some shapes. Night three and the supremely confident Manisha is sure her fusion menu of Indian and Western food will blow the guests away but they seem to be more entertained by her wedding photos. A few home truths are shared around the table, but will they provide a breath of fresh air or leave a bitter taste in the mouth with a grand on the line?

Married couple Rachel and Matt kick off the competition in Nottinghamshire with a hearty and rustic menu. Mr One-liner Mark makes a big first impression, and his wife Debbie is the butt of most of his jokes. Final couple Sam and Paula are particularly taken aback. Day two sees Sam and Paula cook up an experimental menu, which doesn't pay off. Mark reveals his competitive side and Debbie is shocked by the conversation over dessert about 'trumping'. Finally it's Mark and Debbie's turn to play host by pulling out all the stops, including a red carpet. Mark invites his pet dog for dessert with jaw-dropping consequences. However the food is a mixed bag, leaving the competition wide open for the £1000 prize.

First hosts, partners Lauren and Claire, are hoping to impress with a menu of experimental flavour combinations. But with guest couples, Marian and Billy Connolly look-a-like Stewart, and Cindy and Rod, less than keen on the starter, is their unusual menu a step too far? Lastly it's the turn of Marian and Stewart who hope to transfer their showbiz skills to the cooking table, but as they've never hosted a dinner party before the pressure is on!
