Built in 1820 the site was home to both a jail and courthouse serving all of Argyll. Over 6000 men women and children were tried and held in the prison where convict’s shared just eight cells with vagrants and the insane. Now used as a museum, visitors have reported many ghostly incidents in the cells including whispering, clanking chains and dark figures cowering in the shadows. It is said that many modern day Australians can trace their family line back to those that under took those voyages on this great ship. Conditions were hard and many lost their lives on the long journey. What fired the collective imagination of the team were the many stories of hauntings connected with the ship, from its original conception through its many voyages to its final return, and to be the first to carry out a paranormal investigation on its decks was an opportunity they could not turn down.

The spectacular series of caverns, 25 of which form the wonderful family visitor attraction, were formed over millions of years by what is now the River Axe which runs out of Wookey Hole and past the Mill, giving rise to the local belief that it flows from deep within the Underworld. They have seen human habitation for over 50,000 years and around 200AD, the Greek diarist Clement of Alexandria described hearing sounds like the “clashing of numerous cymbals” coming from the caves. The Mill has its own share of supernatural apparitions which convinced the Most Haunted team that an investigation of Wookey hole and its surroundings was long overdue.

On his death, he left his waxwork collection to Marie. By 1835 she was established in London. “The Chamber of Horrors” became one of the first and most popular attractions. St Thomas' Hospital in Shaw Heath, Stockport consists of new and old buildings, Most of its older areas used to be homes, school rooms and workshops for up to 690 people and was originally known as Stockport Workhouse. The Most Haunted team spend 24 hours in the complex to see if, through its reported supernatural activity, they can uncover some of its lengthy past which includes riots, poor standard of living and death.

Situated in the heart of Dartford, Kent is the Central Library building which has been home to Dartford's Library since 1916 and it's museum since 1937. Most Haunted visit the North East Aircraft Museum located in Sunderland. Once Sunderland Airport that all fell wayside in 1984 as developers soon swalloped up the neighbouring land. This place actually goes back to 1917 the first World War, and it's biggest claim to fame was on August 15th 1940 the battle of Britain was raging and every plane from this airfield was in the sky and they shot down alot of rival planes from the coast. Sargent Edward Grenville Shaw crashed not far from here, he was training and they was flying near each other and one of them made a mistake and both wings clipped each other and he crashed to the ground. The Most Haunted Team visit the Ancient High House located in Stafford. The building has been around for about 1595, there was several shops and a girls school that once occupied the building. A little girl has been seen in the victorian room but when she is approached she just disappears, a little old lady is also seen in the room rocking on the rocking chair. A figure of a man has been seen walking the stairs on a regulary basis, the man is someone who worked here but died years earlier. Ian Shillito is the Guest Psychic.

The Most Haunted Team investigate East Riddlesden Hall located in West Yorkshire. The Hall has been standing since the 1640's. A small part of the main house was declared unsafe and it was demolished about a century ago before the rest of the building ended up in Natural Trust's hands in 1934. The big lake outside has seen three drownings, one of a Victorian boy who's ghost has been seen looking sorrowful in the hall. During the 14th century the master returned to the house unexpectantly to find his wife in bed with another man; the master was so enraged that he locked his wife in her bedroom untill she starved to death. Nor the man she was with escape, he was bricked up behind a wall. Her ghost has been seen, and her groans and footsteps have also been heard. Ian Shillito is the Guest Psychic.

The Most Haunted Team visit Taunton Castle in Somerset. The Castle is around 800 years old, a museum opened here in 1778, the victorians also used the site as a private school and public baths. A monestry was held there seven centuries earlier. Bloody executions of over one hundred local men was held at the Castle, their crimes was siding against King James the second, which raged into battles around Taunton in the 17th century, step in the hanging judge George Jeffries a cold and calculated killer who may haunt the Castle, his ghost has been seen walking the empty corridors of the Castle along with the grey lady, marching footseps are also heard. Also a poltergeist is in the Castle, huge temperature changes, and feelings of being watched, objects also dissapear and reappear. a cavalier and young women is also seen. The Most Haunted Team investigate Preston Manor located in Brighton. First mentioned in the doomsday book of 1086 it has since gone through many rebuilds but it still retains one fact that a ghost has been seen here for over 500 years. The nun was brutally murdered and her remains was not found until 400 years later , Agnes does not just haunt the manor she also haunts the graveyard nearby looking for a proper burial. The Stamford family who's generation have lived in the Manor for 138 years have seen Agnes. There was many families that lived here before it was open to the viewing public in 1933. Many people are convinced that a nun called sister Agnes resides here. Bells jingle even when one of them is not connected, a women in gray has also been seen. The Most Haunted Team visit the Royal Exchange Theatre in the city centre of Manchester. The original construction was of Victorian age which was reconstructed to the current version in 1874, for the next 94 years the only trading there was of cotton merchants. In 1940 a world war 2 bomb destroyed half of the building 3 days before christmas. Trading ceased by the end of the 60's and a Theatre company took it over around 1976. In the 1996 the shows did stop at 11-15am on Saturday 15th June, a three thousand three hundred pound bomb ripped the heart out of these evacuated city streets, it was two and a half years untill the Theatre opened the doors to the public again. Most Haunted investigate Margam Castle located in Port Talbot Wales. Margam Castle was only built less than 2 centuries ago, between 1840 to 1850. The Castle was actually built on an area that has bronze age settlers. The park area has a religious overtone too, there is an actual ruin of an abbey that is still there today. In 1898 Robert Scott a trusted gamekeeper was murdered outside by a poacher, ever since then his ghost has wandered the gothic staircase and the Castle itself. Noises, shadows, and footsteps are heard regulary in the Castle. A dark male figure, children singing, and a blacksmith has been seen, the blacksmith has been seen standing under a beam which was the only one to survive the fire in 1977. Considerable growth was then tempered by a clean air act then forced the coal fuel ovens to burn one last time in 1960. Furniture moving, footsteps, and cold spots are regulary experienced in the Museum. A poltergeists, black phantoms, and the yard sees ghostly workers in victorian clothes still doing the work in death as they did in life. Nameless men and women still wander in the dead of night. The Most Haunted Team visit the beautiful Warwick Castle situated in Warwickshire. Warwick Castle first fort was built in AD 914 which was a wooden construction but it was made into stone in 1260, with halls and towers added during the tudor, and victorian eras etc has made this Castle what it is today, a beautiful structure. Dark shadows, and Ghostly footsteps are heard throughout the Castle. A ghost womens screams and a babys cries have been heard in the chamber. Description: Ancient hall at one time used as an inn and school, now preserved by local trustees. The original building was constructed in 1325. History: - The first Hall was built by the D'Ewyas family on the bank of the River Ribble but this was destroyed by Robert The Bruce, following the battle of Bannockburn. - By 1325, the Great Hall of the present building was built by Gilbert de Southworth, husband of Alice D'Ewyas. - The West Wing of the house, the oriel bay and the screen were all later added by Thomas de Southworth (Gilbert's great grandson). - Alas, the family fell into debt and Edward Southworth was forced to sell the Hall to Thomas Braddyll in March 1678. - Braddyll never lived there but removed all he could to enhance his own home at Conishead Priory, Ulverston. - Braddyll let the Hall to several families of hand loom weavers. As result, the hall became more and more dilapidated. - Between 1830-1846 Braddyll ran the Hall as an inn called the Bradyll Arms.

Description: Hotel named after a famous Crow-type of Cornish bird. No one knows exactly when the hostelry was built but it's believed to date back to the mid-1600s, as there is a fireplace which bears the date of 1644. History: A disastrous fire swept through the area in 1578 but the building survived. In 1685 when Somerset was traumatised by the Rebellion of the Duke of Monmouth, King James II responded quickly and a battle was fought nearby. The rebels were defeated and slaughtered, Monmouth was captured, tried and beheaded despite his pleas for mercy. Monmouth supporters were then hunted through the West Country by Judge Jeffreys and Colonel Percy Kirke who carried out executions of anyone suspected of complicity. Kirke hanged people without trials, while Jeffreys managed to hold trials before hanging the rebels on the tree called 'Hanging Cross'. He once stayed at the hotel, and was responsible for the deaths of more than 300. He is a hated figure in Somerset. Ghost ratings:

History: It was owned by a notorious horse dealer and suspected highwayman, Ambrose Saintsbury. In 1732, the building was re-built and renamed the Sergeant's Head. The proprieter at that time was Francis Paradise, a former sergeant of the mace to the towns Mayor In 1789, the building was leased to Walter Flay, and in the same year, was struck by lightening, causing severe damage to the stables The cellars have five chambers which lead off from a central passage; however the rear of the cellar has been bricked up, blocking access to what is believed some extra 100 feet or so of underground tunnel, which runs under the establishment's yard In 1999, John Girven removed a brick from this area while investigating the suspected tunnel. Contrary to other medieval castles, Castle Ammersoyen was built according to a fixed plan. Four wings were erected around an inner-court with four heavy towers at the corners. History: In 1386 the van Herlaer family lost Castle Ammersoyen to the duke of Gelderland who captured the strategically situated castle. The Duke gave the castle to his illegitimate son, who sold it to Johan van Broekhuyzen, Lord of Waardenburg, in 1424. In the next four hundred years Ammersoyen only passed into other hands by inheritance. In 1496 Walrave van Broekhuyzen married Otto Van Arkel, member of a well-known family. Under the succeeding five generations of this family Castle Ammersoyen was given its final structure. In 1574 the Spanish followed. Most damage however was done by a fire in 1590. Because of a shortage of money the Arkel family was not able to restore the heavily damaged castle u

Description: Ancient castle located on the border of the Rhine. It was a centre of power, government, and administration of justice. In 1260 there was a wooden fortress on the site, which was destroyed by a warlord of the bishop of Utrecht. But 20 years later it had been rebuilt in stone, and was again besieged and plundered. History: In the early 15th century the North Wing was added, together with battlements and defence towers. During the latter half of the century, the big tower and parts of the South Wing were built. During the 16th century there was another floor added to the East wing, the South Wing was extended, and the round tower with winding stairs connected all the floors of the extended castle. By around 1640 the castle reached its present shape. Through its long history it was repeatedly besieged, burnt down, restored and left uninhabited for long periods of time. Tamworth Castle is a typical Norman motte and bailey castle thought to date from the 1180's. Since then numerous additions and alterations have been made to the Castle by succeeding generations of owners. The oldest surviving section within the Shell-Keep, apart from the Tower itself, is the north wing. The Banqueting Hall added in the early 15th century, and the Warder's Lodge at the entrance to the Courtyard is Tudor. Unfortunately the Castle was much neglected in the 18th century, but between 1783 and 1811 extensive alterations were made. There has been some confusion over the identity of the castle's first Lord. There is evidence that it was held by both Robert de Despencer and Robert Marmion. Robert de Despencer evidently left no male heir so either a daughter or a niece married into the Marmion family.
